By MRS. DOROTHEA KERLIN Since we have been moving books an<) making room for more books, we have discovered things we didn’t know we had. For example: yearbooks of DePauw university for the years 1924, 1925 and 1926, beautiful volumes, well bound; also a Purdue university yearbook “The Debris’’, 1926. These volumes are full of photographs, and information, and anyone interested in them may have them, one or all, by coming to the library. Have you visited the library since we have our new shelving installed and books put back in place? Mrs. sKesler, Mrs. Baumgartner and Mrs. Kerlin moved all of the books, some two and three times, and figured that represented at least 25,000 books handled during the three days the , library was closed. Miss Carolyn Grove, who will begin her duties as librarian January 2 also helped with some of the book transfers. Herbert Morehouse and Nelson Beer, members of the library board, Albert Mathews, Phillip Angle and Roger Baumgartner, friends of the library, assembled the new shelving, moved both old and new shelving into the proper places, for which we are most grateful. Other bookcases were carried to the basement by Nelson Beer and Harold Young. This was a backbreaking job for all of us, and we hope the public will appreciate the new arrangements. Diane Kesler has been making shelf labels which will help you in selecting books. We invite you to visit the children’s room, resplendent in Christmas decorations, fireplace, Christmas tree and holiday 1 books. Mrs. Joseph Gerencser made a number of attractive birdhouses and birds for added features for the Christmas tree.
