It’s a long way from Kitty Hawk to “jumbo jets.”. Although we can fly farther, faster today, one fact remains: sooner or later, we must return to terra firma, for earth —not sky—is our home. « Yet our house is not in good order. Pollution, war, hatred, misery mar this world. It shouldn’t be like this —and it wouldn’t... if we would let the Church help us transform Christ’s example into human action. Christian church ladies hold annual Yule party Thursday The annual secret pal Christmas party was held by the ladies of the Milford Christian church last Thursday night in the church fellowship hall. Members of circle one under Mrs. Darrell Orn were in charge of the evening’s activities. The evening’s activities were opened with a get acquainted contest. Guests were then introduced by Mrs. Jim White, president of the Ladies Aid of the church. A second contest was then enjoyed. Secret pals were revealed by the unwrapping of Christmas gifts and new pals were later drawn for tbe coming year. Christmas carols were led by Mrs. Orn and the Christmas story was read from the Gospel of Luke by Mrs. C. J. Myers. Mrs. Claude Hamilton gave the Christmas devotions. Incoming president Mrs. Kenneth Cannon gave her challenge for the new year and 1974 year books were distributed. Refreshments of salads and desserts with punch and coffee were served at the close of the meeting. The ladies were seated at tables denoting the month of their birth. While other decorations throughout the room followed the Christmas theme the tables were decorated for the months of the year. Joe Todds at real estate convention Joe and Barbara Todd of Todd Realty, Lake Wawasee and Syracuse, recently attended the National Real Estate Convention in Washington, D. C. The Todds were among approximately 10,000 in attendance. During their stay in Washington they visited the Capitol, Arlington cemetery, and the Washington Cathedral. They stayed at the Watergate Hotel which is a lovely hotel in an apartment, hotel, and office complex located on the Potomac River. The highlight of the convention and the Todd’s visit was the appearance before the realtors of President Richard M. Nixon. The President was well received by approximately 5,000 realtors and received a standing ovation several times during his half hour speech. Choughfe From The Living Bible “My beloved said to me, ‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers are springing up and the time of the singing of birds has come. Yes, spring is here. The leaves are coming out and the grape vines are in blossom. How delicious they smell! Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.’ “My dove is hiding behind some rocks, behind an outcrop of the cliff. Call to me and let me hear your lovely voice and see your handsome face.” Solomon 2:10-14
