THE GOOD News Sensations, a young people’s musical group from the Christian church, presented the program last Sunday evening during church services. It was their first full length program and was very well presented. Some 20 plus young people make up the musical group.

There is baking to be done, there are gifts to be purchased and wrapped, Kiere are Christmas cards to be ddressed and mailed and plans to be made for the parties and family gatherings . . . The whole town will be in a bustle until those last few hours before the holiday arrives on the scene, then as if by some miracle everything is completed and everyone settles down to enjoy the peace and rest that come with the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child. HUBERT L. KRULL participated in a recent fly-in program presented by the farm equipment division of Hesston Coloration. He flew to company headquarters in Kansas for a 24hour visit, viewing windrowers, forage harvesters, hay handling machines and other products the assembly line. MR. AND Mrs. D. G. Seely, worthy matron and patron of the local Eastern Star chapter, were off Sunday to attend a meeting of the worthy matrons and patrons of district 20. Mrs. Clem Lisor, Grand Esther, was a guest of the group. Keith Smallwood, local service station owner and worthy patron at Syracuse, was not in attendance since wife Marian, Syracuse’s worthy matron, was sidelined with a bad cold. BZA meets on Thursday night A variance was granted at the Thursday night meeting of the board of zoning appeals of the town of Syracuse for Wawasee Auto Brokers, Inc., south of Syracuse for special use and variance in the use of an, office trailer building for office and commercial purposes under provisions of the zoning ordinance of the town. Said variance at the site of a used car lot, is for a period of one year and subject to renewal. The second petition to be heard, that of Albert Boudreau and Alice Boudreau, was withdrawn and had been asked for installation and use of a mobile home dwelling s in Turkey Creek township. Slippery pavement blamed for mishap Over $l,lOO in damages was listed in a two-car accident on a snow-covered county road Monday morning involving two Syracuse drivers. There were no injuries. County officers reported the collision occurred as Mrs. Marian Gans, 19, r 3 Syracuse, was driving east on CR 1050 about one-fourth of a mile east of Indiana 13, when her car slid on the snowy pavement striking an eastbound auto driven by Wilbur F. Smith, 62, of r 3 Syracuse. Officers listed S7OO damage to the Smith vehicle and $425 to the Gans auto. Prep school splits action Wawasee Prep had the Akron Flyers on the ropes last Friday night but the rope ran out in the second half of play giving the Flyers a decisive win over the Lakers, 78-58. Junior Brian Welch was leading scorer for Prep with 12 points followed by sophomore Matt Pain with 10. Dittman scored 32 points for the opposing team. The Lakers came back Saturday night with a win over Bethany Christian resulting in the return of the conference bucket which Bethany took from the Lakers last year. Leon Streeter, a senior, netted 11-points along with Aaron Scott, senior, 10, giving the Lakers a 4637 victory. Gingerich scored 11 points for the Bethany Braves.

Driver arrested after Sunday a.m. accident
David Antu, 19, New Paris, was arrested following an accident at 12:50 a.m. last Sunday on Catherine street in Milford. Antu was charged with reckless driving. He was headed east on Catherine street in a 1967 Buick and struck a 1972 Ford parked on the north side of Catherine street in front of the Arthur Baumgartner home. Antu was taken to the Goshen hospital for treatment of cuts and abrasions. His wife, Maria, 16, a passenger in the vehicle, complained of pain and was also taken to the hospital. She was not admitted. After striking the parked car Antu’s auto jumped the curb and LAKELAND LOCAL Mr. and Mrs. Noble Fisher and Rex of Milford were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Persons of Warsaw Sunday. The Fishers were treated to dinner at a Wakarusa restaurant and then spent the afternoon at the Fisher home.
