Miss Cynthia Rapp is attending the National 4-H Convention at Chicago this week. Thanksgiving day guests in the Paul Schermerhorn home were Mr. and Mrs. Don McManamon and daughters of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Schermerhorn and daughter of Roann and Miss Cindy Schermerhorn, a student at Purdue. The Schermerhorns drove Cindy back to Purdue on Sunday afternoon. By DOROTHEA KERLIN After much planning, waiting and hoping for finances, we now have new bookshelves, ready to be assembled. In order to provide extra space fix* our books, these new shelves .will be added to the adult section. This will mean removing books from all book cases, moving cases, adding others. Consequently, it will be necessary to close the library for several days. Please note these dates of closing .. . Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 4, 5 and 6. Return your books, get a good supply of others on Monday, Dec. 3, to be sure you won’t get caught short. •Does any organization wish to contribute to the “bookshelf fund? ” We had hoped to get some revenue sharing money this year, but that hasn’t materialized. Many new books have been purchased for the children’s room. Dr. M. Rigdon appointed IMT supervisor Dr. Michael A. Rigdon has been appointed supervisor of the Irradiated Material Technology division of Babcock and Wilcox at its Lynchburg Research center in Lynchburg, Va., according to an announcement received here. A graduate of Syracuse high school and the son of Mrs. J. A. Rigdon and the late Mr. Rigdon of Syracuse, he joined the center in 1972 after working on materials problems with Technology, Inc., a subcontractor for Wright Patterson air force base. Dr. Rigdon'obtained his Ph D in material sciences and metallurgical engineering from Purdue university in 1971. Since joining the Lynchburg Research center, he has been the principal engineer working on the irradication programs to better understand the problem of fuel densification.
