were Mark Vanlaningham with one TD ; Ralph Rieff, who kicked four extra points and a field goal; and Chad Singery with one TD. The Warriors shot off to an early lead when Dahlstrom slashed off center and sprinted 15 yards for the TD at 9:35 in the first quarter. The next scores came at 4:57 and 3:53 respectively. The first was another long run of 67 yards by Dahlstrom. The other was when a punt blocked by Doug Brown fell into the hands of Chad Singery who took it in from the 33 fa a TD The second quarter was another big one fa Wawasee as

scoring went. Vanlaningham set up the TD with a 32 yard run that moved the ball to the 48. A few plays later Dahlstrom again had eyes fa nothing except the goal line as he galloped 58 yards for the score. A Chad Singery interception set up the next score as he moved the ball to the 20. Four plays later Vanlaningham took the handoff from Smith and smashed two yards for the score. At the half, Concord had not scored, the Warriors had 33 points. Wawasee’s only score in the third quarter came at 3:31 when Ralph Reiff kicked Wawasee’s first field goal of the season from 30 yards out. Dahlstrom scored the last TD of the game with 8:29 remaining when he was at the quarterback position. Chris Paulus intercepted a Concord pass and took it down to the five. The next play Dahlstrom sneaked for the TD. The Warrior defense did its usual fine job of containing the opponents offense. The Warrior offensive line consisting of Bruce Korenstra, Gary Francis, Dave Wollman, John Fisher and Jeff Miller, turned in another great job of opening way for the back’s TD runs. Coach Hal Traviolia commented “The defense played a fine game, the offense did also, except they didn’t get in too much playing time. And, the team as a whole is executing better each game.” The Warriors face the Manchester Squires at Manchester college for another NLC game

Ohio State is a truly great team but we fought them to the bitter end. In the third quarter we gained more first downs. In the second half their offensive teams was held to one touchdown and only one other time this season has that happened. defense continued to mature. At one time when we held them we had one senior, two juniors, five sophomores and three freshmen. The backup men are young too. Ihey kept improving and this experience against the best will be a big lesson. If we play as we did against Ohio State we can win four of our last five. The young players are coming along — that means some of the freshmen. The play of Robert Roberts is picking up. Cunningham, a sophomore, should get well soon. We came out of the game physically better than most Ohio State fracs’s and now we have to get in gear to get a winning season by the big finish — at least we hope. Wisconsin etc. feels otherwise. Sylvester Wilson, the sophomore speedster from Terre Haute got in a few plays and he might make a running back yet. He has great speed but it is Courtney Snyder who looked flashy. Two of our best didn’t get in. Cremeens tried a couple of {days but Joel Kirby didn’t play at all. Glazier and Kramer showed they could do things at quarterback with Willie Jones out

but I was sorta hoping to see the freshman Terry Jones who is so highly touted. Corso was right in not playing him in those pressures but I did not get to see the J. V. games and was hoping to see him before the season is over — but as I think about it — I hope I wait until next year. Mike < Flanagin has scored touchdown against Ohio State and thrown for one. His only collegiate touchdowns and against the team where his dad was a star fullback. He has done a great job for us and Trent Smock showed a lot of speed on the razzle dazzle play. The play of tackle Larry Jameson on offense is being felt. A defensive player until into this season, he is now making a good show in offensive ability and will be around next year. Someone should mention the blocking of the guards on running plays. Boarman and Schumaker plus center Sukurs have been great. If you weren’t at the game you should get a program and read about them. They are the key to our fast finish this year and their replacements will be the key to a winning season next.
