Landgrebe applauds Ford as new US Vice President

(Following statement was issued by Rep. Landgrebe following President Nixon’s announcement that Cong"essman Gerald Ford of Michigan was his choice as the new Vice President, succeeding Spiro T< Agnew.) I applaud the choice of Congressman Jerry Ford as the new Vice President of the United States. It has been my privilege to work very closely with Congressman Ford since coming to Congress, and I have found him to be very energetic and a man of high Christian principle. As House Minority Leader, I believe that Jerry has proven his leadership capabilities as well as his ability to work harmoniously with President Nixon. His popularity among members of both parties is unquestioned and

Mr. and Mrs. Ganger remained for a few days visit with the Weavers and other friends and relatives at Elkhart. Indian Relic society meets Members of the Kosciusko County Indian Relic society met Sunday afternoon in the Shrine building at Warsaw. A number of displays were seen including an old iron display by Jeff Morgan of r 1 Warsaw, much of which was found by a detector. Next meeting of the society will be an open meeting with the date and place to be announced later. Attending from Syracuse were president and Mrs. James Nelson, secretary Mrs. Georgia Buster and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sharp. Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Buster served refreshments at the close of the meeting.

New officers elected to local drug committee

The Concerned Citizens Drug Education committee met last week at Wawasee high school with Thomas Gronendyke being elected president for the ensuing year. Other officers are: Vice president — Rev. Her mother, Mrs. Linda Pifer, sisters Connie and Cathy of Oswego were on a two-week vacation with Mrs. Pifer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stinson, Dan, Mark, Nancy and Colleen of Kalamazoo, Midi. They spent a week at a ranch on Elk River near Steamboat Springs, Colo. They also enjoyed traveling through the mountains, stopping at Denver for a few days.
