There are still openings in all of the adult education classes to be offered at Wawasee high school this fall. The Wawasee high school tennis team ended its season this past week with two meets giving the team a 1-6 standing in conference and 5-9 record overall. Mr. and Mrs. G. Hallett Neale of Elkhart were Tuesday callers of the latter’s cousin, Mrs. Georgia Buster in Syracuse. 5 YEARS AGO, OCT. 9,1968 Mrs. Lee Good, Syracuse, will be among the graduates at the Indiana Vocational Technical college on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13. She is graduating from the school of licensed practical nursing. Mrs. Pat Mason of Milford and Mrs. Blanche Mason of Wawasee Lake returned Saturday from a visit to Japan. Sue Ann Traster, Syracuse, placed first in the Indiana State National Baton Twirling contest held Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Barker Junior high school, Michigan City. “Rookie” Brown is the crack basketball player behind the famous Harlen Satellites who will play the Syracuse All-Stars at the Syracuse gym at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4. Mrs. Nelson A. Miles of Syracuse has been awarded a prize by the Chicago Tribune for her salmon chowder recipe. Her recipe appeared in the metropolitan daily Wednesday.
