OBITUARIES
Stanley T. Baugher Stanley T. Baugher, 75, North Webster, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday at Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, after a -six month illness. Baugher was born July 8, 1898 in North Webster to Daniel and Angeline(Zintsmaster) Baugher. In November 1946 he married Julia Carpenter who preceded him in death in 1972. He is survived by one brother, Harry, North Webster; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the North Webster funeral home. Interment was in the North Webster cemetery. LaMar Mutschler LaMar Mutschler, 72, r 1 Leesburg, passed away Saturday at 11:30 p.m. at a Greencastle hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack while attending an anniversary party at DePauw university. Mr. Mutschler was born on September 17, 1900 at Nappanee to Albert and Elizabeth (Ulrey) Mutschler. On September 8,1923 he was united in marriage to Mary Slipher and she survives. He was past president of Mutschler Brothers Cabinet Co. of Nappanee, chairman of the board, past trustee of the Nappanee United Methodist church, past president of the Nappanee Kiwanis club, a graduate of DePauw university, member of Delta kappa Epsilon fraternity, 50 year member of Masonic Lodge 566 F&AM, Lodge 155 RAM, Mizpah Shrine Temple, Fort Wayne, Scottish Rite of South, past president of the former Nappanee State Bank and director of the First National Bank of Elkhart. Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Paul Dixon, Sac City, lowa, Miss

Marla Mutschler, * Racine, Wis., Mrs. John Armentrout, Sidney, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one brother, Carlyle of Nappanee; are sister, Mrs. Mary Chapman of Douglaston, Long Island? N. Y. Funeral services' were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at a Nappanee funeral I home with Rev. James B. Willyard officiating. Interment was in the Union Center cemetery. Mrs. Florence Coppock Mrs. Florence Gertrude Coppock, 87, Huntington, a former resident of Wakarusa and a summer resident of Syracuse Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 23, in Lutheran hospital, Fort Wayne. She had been hospitalized two days after a home accident; Mrs. Coppock was born March 17,1886 in Elkhart county to Rev. Elias and Esther Swartz. In July 1903 she married Oscar Metzler. He died in 1949, and in 1953 she married Rev. Claude Coppock, who died in 1966. Mrs. Coppock was a member of the Wakarusa Church of the Brethren. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Kathryn) Searer, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Russell (Thelma) Neterer, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Services were held Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Wakarusa Church of the Brethren with Rev. Allen Weldy conducting the services. Interment was in Olive cemetery. Ward L. Robison Ward L. Robison, 88, r 3 Syracuse, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Alfran nursing home/ Warsaw, from complications. He had been in failing health for several years. Robison was born in Syracuse January 3, 1885 to Thomas and Adella (Jones) Robison. He lived in this area all his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren. Surviving are a half-brother, Harry Willard, Benton; a halfsister, Mrs. Willard (LuLu) Klatt, South Bend; one nephew; and two nieces. One brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Harris-Troxel funeral home in North Webster with Rev. Lester Young officiating. Burial will be in the North Webster cemetery.

Sidney resident undergoes surgery Mrs. Paul Grisso of Sidney underwent lung surgery Thursday morning at Saint Joseph hospital in Fort Wayne. After recovering from this surgery she will undergo back surgery. Mrs. Grisso is in room 817 and would enjoy hearing from her friends, since she will be hospitalized for some time. Mrs. Grisso is well known in the Pierceton and Warsaw area. Three injured in accident on Saturday An accident at the intersection of SR 13 and CR 1000 N occurred at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, involving Stewart C. Graham, 16, r 2 Syracuse, and Robert E. Smith, 39, r 6 Warsaw. Graham was headed north on SR 13 and had slowed to turn onto CR 100 N. His foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas pedal. The car started to turn, he stepped on the gas to make the turn and was hit broadside by the Smith auto. Graham was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. Graham was treated at Murphy Medical Center for a laceration to the top of the head. Smith had abrasions to the left arm, but was not treated. Two passengers in the Smith auto, his wife and daughter, were treated at Murphy Medical Center. Janice L. Smith, 36, was treated for a bruised left shoulder, a laceration to the right leg and cuts to the right hand; and Tina L. Smith, nine, was treated for a bruised left arm and possible chest injuries. State police Sgt. John Hammersly and trooper Larry Clodfelter investigated and set damage to Graham’s 1972 Dodge at SI,BOO and $650 to Smith’s 1966 Oldsmobile. R. D. car struck a curb. His car went into a broadside skid for 292 feet, crossing the center line. Clingaman, driving a 1973 Chevrolet, and Cathleen E. Perman, 23, 3812 Elkhart road, Goshen, driving a 1965 Chevrolet station wagon, both braked their cars but hit Kidder broadside. The Kidder auto was thrown through the air and landed on a curb. Clingaman and Kidder were /taken by the first aid ambulance to Goshen hospital, Kidder with a back injury and Clingaman with a dislocated rib cage. Cathleen Perman was uninjured. Sgt. Ray C. Knowles investigated, setting damage at more than $5,000. SIBO damage in two-car accident Patrolman Doug Brumfield investigated a two-car accident Thursday at 4:42 p.m. in the 300 block of East Center St., Warsaw. Drivers involved were Mary Ashley, 52, r 8 Warsaw, and Henry C. Yeager, r 2 Leesburg. Mary Ashley was traveling northeast out of an alley in the 300 block of East Center St., when she struck the Yeager auto which was eastbound on East Center St. Damage to the Yeager auto was set at $175 with damage to the Ashley auto set at $5. 30 pound carp caught at Lake Wawasee Larry Holloway, r 1 box 158 Syracuse, caught a 38 inch, 30 pound carp Monday along the shore of his Lake Wawasee home. The carp, one of the largest to come from the lake, has been tied to the pier at the Holloway residence since it was caught. The fish was; too heavy for the fish scales Holloway had and when he could not locate a place to weigh it, he used the bathroom scales. LAKELAND LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. E. G. (Pete) Hillburt, former owners and operators of Johnson Hotel, Lake Wawasee, returned to their Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home after spending six weeks in Indiana visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kroh and son Greg of Indianapolis and attending the wedding of their granddaughter, Miss Linda Galliene of Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Prough and children, Susie, Michael and Beverly left Tuesday morning for their home in Rowland Heights, Calif., after visiting the past week with Mir. and Mrs. Kenneth Knisley and other relatives and friends in the area.
