OBITUARIES
Floyd E. Heath Floyd E. Heath, 48, Huffman Lake, brother of Dale Heath, Milford, passed away Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Heath was born on June 25, 1925 to Alfred and Julia (Peterson) Heath at Brookings, S. D. He was a 12 year veteran of the armed forces, serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S, Army. He was employed as a security guard by P.V.F. Security. He had been a resident of Etna Green and Warsaw for the past 12 years. Mr. Heath was a member of the Warsaw VFW and past member of John C. Peterson post 49 of the American Legion. Surviving with the brother of Milford are three other brothers, Kenneth, Alhambra, Calif., Robert of r 4 Warsaw and Delbert of Etna Green; three sisters, Mrs. Nina Kvinlog, El Centro, Calif., Mrs. Alice Gelnalski, Rapid City, N. D., and Mrs. Wilma Patka of Breckenridge, Minn. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at a Bourbon funeral home with Rev. C. E. McClarnon officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Circle at Oakwood cemetery in Warsaw. George Allen Fetters George Allen Fetters, 23, North Webster, died Sunday at the Fort Wayne state hospital following a long illness. He was the son of Robert F. and Nelda (Rider) Fetters. He was born September 26, 1949 at Wolflake. Surviving him are his father and stepmother of r 1 Kimmell; one brother, Philip and two half brothers, Dwight and Gary Kimber, all of r 1 Kimmell; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Rider of Larwill; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Zoe Fetters of r 1 Kimmell. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the funeral home at North Webster with Rev. Chester Reed officiating. Burial was in the Salem cemetery. Mrs. Rhea A. Milford and Mrs. Edward (Marjorie) Foltz of Leesburg. Mrs. Miller passed away Thursday at 9:20 p.m. at the Elkhart hospital. Mrs. Miller was born on October 19,1896 near Cromwell and had resided around the Indian Village area for a number of years where she was a member of the Indian Village United Brethren church. Surviving with the daughters of Milford and Leesburg are three other daughters, Mrs. LaVon (Cleo) Fletcher and Mrs. Clyde (Norma) Lockwood, Jr., both of Elkhart; and Mrs. Joseph (Opal) DeMersseman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, G. L. (Bill), Sarasota, Fla., Carl (Buss), McNeal Ariz.;’ 18 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren. Services were conducted at the Milford funeral home with interment in the Leesburg cemetery. Mrs. Naomi Christophel Mrs. Naomi Christophel, 82, Foraker, sister of Mrs. Raymond Hochstetler, Milford, passed away Thursday at 8:48 p.m. at the LuAnn nursing home in Nappanee. She had been living at the nursing home since June 13 but had been ill for the past 10 years. Mrs. Christophel was boim in Union township on March 25,1891 to Albert and Elizabeth Culp. She was united in marriage to Jesse Christophel on April 26, 1913 and he preceded her in death in 1951. She was a member of the Salem Mennonite church and was a homemaker. Surviving with the sister of Milford are three sons, Paul, Foraker, Timothy, Marion, James of New Paris; one daughter, Miss Ruth Christophel of Foraker; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter in 1938. One brother, Asher Culp, passed away Monday, Aug. 13. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Harold Myers officiating. Interment was in the Yellow Creek cemetery. Asher Culp Asher Culp, Tampa Fla., formerly of Foraker, brother of Mrs. Raymond Hochstetler, Milford, passed away early Monday morning in a Tampa
nursing home. Surviving with the sister of Milford is his wife, Lillian; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Olive) Beanland, Florida; one son, Edward, Florida. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at a Tampa, Fla., funeral home.

Rash of accidents in area A rash of accidents and a theft in the Syracuse-North Webster area have been reported this week in the county. 1 John C. Schacht, 16, r 4 Syracuse, suffered a whiplash injury in a one-car accident this week at the intersection of CR 100 N and CR 400E. Schacht swerved to miss a German Shepherd which was on the road, losing control of his car and running into a cornfield.. Investigating officer Gerry Moser, set damage to the car at $350; SIOO to a county road sign; and undetermined damage to the cornfield. John R. Cripe, r 1 Syracuse, reported to county police Sgt. Ron Robinson a stolen tri-cart from his property. It was discovered missing at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. Laron Gans, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyl Gans, 117 N. Mills St., Syracuse, and Harry Hochstetler, 38, r 4 Syracuse, were involved in a car-bicycle accident at 7:23 p.m. Saturday. Syracuse policeman Dale Sparklin said the boy rode his bicycle down an incline and into the path of the auto. The Syracuse First Aid unit took Laron to the Goshen hospital for treatment for a possible broken arm. An accident involving cars driven by Sarah Zentz, 22, Syracuse and Mark Grady, 18, r 2 Syracuse, occurred on South Huntington St., Syracuse at 8:50 p.m. Saturday. Glover, 16, 1920 W. 9th St., Alderson were northbound on SR 13 and stopped for a vehicle making a left turn. An auto driven by James J. Mathis, 30, Upland, failed to stop in time and struck Glover’s auto, pushing it into the Meyer auto which then struck tjie Newbold auto. After the tax levies have been determined, and presented to the County Auditor not later than two days prior to the second Monday in September, and the levy fixed by the County Tax Adjustment Board, or on their failure so to do, by the County Auditor, ten or more taxpayers feeling themselves aggrieved by such levies, may appeal to the State Board of Tax Commissioners for further and final hearing thereon by filing of petition with the County Auditor on or before the fourth Monday of September or on or before the tenth day after publication by the County Auditor of tax rates charged, whichever date is later, and State Board will fix a date for hearing in this county.
