ANOTHER NEW VEGA — Posed symbolically by the checkered flag that signals the winner in auto racing, the new Vega West Wind 26 ft. “Yankee Clipper” could be predicting its own future. The new larger size travel trailer, which is available for the first time this year in the moderately priced West Wind line, is expected to earn ready acceptance from both dealers and the traveling public. Designed especially for those who travel extensively or who live in travel trailers for prolonged periods, the “Yankee Clipper” features the convenient center bath floor plan with tub and shower combination and private bedroom with choice of double bed or twin beds. Hie new Vega sofa gaucho, which opens into a 54” x 76” bed, is also a standard feature of the living room, which converts to a second private bedroom.

S IOO damages in car fire j The Syracuse firemen answered the report of a fire at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday, July 25. The fire occurred when the engine of a car owned by Raymond Jetmore overheated. The fire occurred at the intersection of US 6 and state road 13 north of Syracuse. Damage wasestimated at SIOO. The fire was out when firemen arrived on the scene. Deer killed near Milford A deer was struck and killed south of Milford on SR 15 Friday. A truck driven by Jacob E. Miller, 24, box 7 New Paris, driving for New Paris Silo Co., was southbound when the incident happened. Investigating officer, trooper Larry Clodfelter, Set damage to the truck at $250.

Clay Township's tax rate 69 cents The proposed tax rate for Clay township is 69 cents for 1974 according to the tax levies notice which appears elsewhere in this issue. The levy would raise $20,213. K The levy is divided into four funds — the township fund, fire fighting fund, recreation fund and the cumulative building fund. The township fund, for township residents only, has been set at nine cents and will raise $2,512. The fire fighting fund, also for township residents only, has a proposed levy of 22 cents for a total amount to be raised of $6,778. The recreation fund’s levy has been set at three cents and will raise $723 and the cumulative fund levy for the township only has been set at 35 gents and will raise $10,200. There id $368,807 in net taxable property in the town of Claypool and $2,915,130 in net taxable property in Clay township. The report is signed by Wayne R. Johnson, trustee.

Winona Lake budget set at $2.50 The proposed levy mi property in the town of Winona Lake has been set at $2.50 according to a legal notice signed by clerktreasurer Helen Howard and appearing elsewhere in this issue. A public hearing on the budget will be held on August 27 at the town hall. The $2.50 levy will raise $63,477. A total of $2.30 has been levied in the general fund and 20 cents in the street fund. The general fund levy is expected to raise $58,399 while the street levy is expected to raise $5,078. 27 cent levy for Etna Twp. A meeting will be held in the regular meeting place of the Etna township advisory board on August 27 for consideration of the budget for 1974 and the tax levies 1 for said year. The proposed levy on property has been set at 27 cents and will raise $7,579. A legal notice found elsewhere in the paper is signed by trustee Max Kintzel. The levy in the township fund has been set at 10 cents and will raise $3,234 while the fire fighting levy has been set at 15 cents and will raise $3,699. Levies in both the recreation fund and the library fund have beefl set at one cent and will raise $323 for each fund. Lake township's proposed rate set at 16 cents The proposed rate for 1973 taxes, payable in 1974, has been set by the advisory board of Lake township and appears elsewhere in this issue in a legal notice. The notice is signed by Austin Neher, trustee. The rate has been set at 16 cents. This will raise $5,354.81. The levy is for three funds. A levy of nine cents is expected to raise $3,332.16 for the township fund and a levy of five cents is expected to raise $1,235.65 for the fire fighting fund. The remaining two cents of the total levy is for the recreation fund and will raise $787.
