OBITUARIES
Avery L. Hall Avery L. Hall, 60, Leesburg, passed away Monday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the Goshen hospital! Death was caused by complications following an illness of two years. Mr. Hall was born on December 12, 1912 to Avery and Hazel (Dickerson Smith) Hall at Houston, Tex. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Wallace on February 7,1932 at Leesburg and she survives. Mr. Hall retired from Zimmer USA in January 1973 and had been a resident of Kosciusko county for 54 years. He was a member of the Leesburg Masonic lodge, Order of Eastern Star, the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and the Leesburg United Methodist church. Surviving with the widow is one son, Robert E. Hall, r 1 Milford; one daughter, Sally Hall, at home; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at a Warsaw funeral home. Rev. Warren Saunders and Rev. J. C. White officiated and interment was in the Leesburg cemetery. Mrs. Vera L. Whisler Funeral services for Mrs. Vera L. Whisler, 80, Milford, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel church of the Brethren in Milford. Mrs. Whisler passed away Monday at 8 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Mana* in Warsaw. She had been in failing health for several months. Mrs. Whisler was born in Algona, lowa, to Robert and Martha (Ruthford) Henley on December 24, 1892. She was united in marriage to Arestes B. Whisler on May 10, 1914 and he (receded her in death on April 24, 1962. She had been a resident of ’ Milfad for the past 31 years and was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs J James O. (Bernice) Longfellow, r 5 Warsaw, and Mrs. Guy (Elian) Smith of r 1 New Paris; two grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers. Friends may call at the Mishler funeral home in Milfad from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today (Wednesday). Rev. Duane Beals will officiate fa the services and interment will be in the Solomon Creek cemetery. Frank Morehouse Wad has been received of the passing of Frank Maehouse of Williston, N. D., on July 5. He was born in 1882, being 91 years old. He leaves his wife Dessie (Dausman) and five daughters. One of the daughters

A daughter, Garnet, preceded him in death. , Arthur L. Weisser Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 7, fa Arthur L. Weisser, Sr., 66,6219 W. Conley Rd., Nawood, 111., and famer Milfad resident. Mr. Weisser passed away Wednesday, July 4, at his home at 11:50 p.m. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Weisser was ban on April 12,1907 in Milfad to Mathew and Sophia (Stoller) Weisser. On March 10, 1928 he was united in marriage to Anna A. Ivanovich at Peaia, 111. She survives. He was self employed fa 45 years at A. L. Weisser Heating and Sheet Metal from which he retired in 1971. He attended the Grace Presbyterian church at the time of his death. Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Miller, Sr., Bartonville, 111., Mrs. Merle (Norma) Nichols of Pekin, DI., Patricia R. Weisser, at home; one son, Arthur L. (Butch) Jr., Norwood Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. John C. (Aline) Hoerr and Mrs. Ernest (Emma) Krauter, both of Milfad, Mrs. William C. (Idola) Best of Nappanee, Mrs. George C. (Bertha) Ehnle of West Peoria, Hl., Mrs. Ben (Bette) Knochel of Elkhart; Mrs. Geage C. (Helen) Zimmer, South Bend; three brothers, Mathew J., Mossville, Hl., Charles and Homan, both of Milfad. Rev. Bruce Dunn officiated for the services and interment was in the Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Mrs. Mabel O'Haver Mrs. Mabel Pearl O’Haver, 85, of Syracuse, died Monday, July 9, at 11:14 a.m. in the Goshen hospital. Death was due to complications. Born March 19, 1885 in the Syracuse community to Albert and Amanda (Lehman) Bunger, Mrs. O’Haver lived in the Kosciusko county and Elkhart county area aH her life. She was married September 11, 1903 to Carl Robert O’Haver, Sr., who preceded her in death September 17, 1969. Mrs. O’Haver was a member of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren. Services were held today (Wednesday) with Rev. Jack Farrell officiating. Interment was in Syracuse cemetery. Jerry J. Slabaugh Jerry J. Slabaugh, Jr., 29, 152 Summit St., Nappanee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry J. Slabaugh, Sr., Milfad, died at the Elkhart hospital Sunday at 10:05 a.m. Cause of death was due to internal injuries sustained in a one car accident in Wakarusa Saturday at 3 a.m. Mr. Slabaugh was born on Jply 6,1944 to Jerry J. and Iva (Schmucker) Slabaugh in Milfad. He was united in marriage to Wilma Chupp on August 9,1962 and she survives. At the time of his death he was employed by the Royal Manufacturing Co., Nappanee. Surviving with the widow and parents are two daughters, Juanita and Teresa; and four sons, Laen, Galen, Jeffery and Jerry HI, all at home; six sisters, Mrs. Sara Fisher, Nappanee, Mrs. Monroe (Betty )MiHer and Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) MHler, both of Shipshewana, Mrs. Monroe (Mary) Hochstetler and Mrs. Enid (Edna) Helmuth, both of Honduras, South America; Mrs. Henry (Martha) Graber, Hartville, Ohio; four brothers, Robert, Kenton, Ohio, Edward, Salem, Melvin, South Bend, and Glenn, Nappanee. Funeral services were held at the Joseph MHler residence at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with Bishops Henry Miller and Melvin MHler officiating. Burial was in the Graber cemetery. Leßoy McDonald Leßoy McDonald, 61, 216 Oak Lane, Goshen, a famer Milford resident, passed away Monday in Pelican VaUey, Minn., where he and his wife were vacationing. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pelican VaUey hospital. Death was caused by an apparent heart attack. • Mr. McDonald was born on August 27, 1911 at MHford and was united in marriage to Vera I. Smith on March 20, 1931 and she survives. Mr. McDonald was plant maintenance engineer at Western Rubber Co., Goshen, was a member of the American Legion, Elks and Moose lodges, Fraternal Order of Police, and a World War II veteran. Surviving with the widow is one brother, Jack W. McDonald, Goshen; one sista, Mrs. Paul Boyer, Goshen. Friends wiU be received at the Yoder-Culp funeral home in Goshen from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today (Wednesday) and funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funaal home. Rev. Chester Carpenter will officiate and interment will be in the Violett cemetery with members of the American Legion
officiating at the graveside services. Delbert Wogoman Delbert Wogoman, 74, of Nath street, Syracuse, died at his home Tuesday, July 10, around 3:30 a.m. of a possible heart attack. Wogoman was born Septemba 26,1898 to Daniel and Minnie May (BiUer) Wogoman of Syracuse and lived in the area all of his life. He was a retired labora and a WWII vetaan. Wogoman is survived by one brotha, Benjaman E. Wogoman of Elkhart; three sisters, Mrs. Preston (Edith L.) Armentrout of Syracuse, and Mrs. Gladys Gibson and Mrs. Milton (Eleanor) Gibson, both of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sista. Funaal services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Harris funaal home in Syracuse. The American Legion will be chargejaf the service and graveside services will be held at the Zion Union cemetery. Mark Sheline Mark Sheline, 59, a forma Goshen resident and son of Mrs. Ernest Huff of Syracuse, died just afternoon Monday, July 9, when he was struck by a C & O Railroad train near the intersection of 33d and Meridian streets in Marion. A patient at the Marion Veteran’s hospital periodicaDy fa the past 10 years, Sheline’s last admittance there was June 10,1972. He was a vetaan of WW 11, born in Elkhart county May 14, 1914. Sheline was the son of WUliam and Harriett (Smith) Sheline. Surviving are his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Huff of Syracuse; a daughter, Miss Wendy Sheline of Yardley, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Gilbert Geage of Syracuse; and four brothers, Dolphus Sheline of Syracuse, Ward Sheline of Elkhart, Dean Sheline of Benton and Porter Sheline of Toledo, Ohio. Arrangements are pending at the Reith-Rohrer-Ehret funeral home in Goshen.

Mrs. Theo Bea of Milford left today (Wednesday) for the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio where she will be undergoing hip surgery possibly this week yet. Mr. and Mrs. Beer wiH be driving to the clinic along with their son, Alan of DaUas, Tex. Mrs. Beer expects to remain at the clinic for about two weeks. Harry Good of Milford was released Sunday morning from the Goshen hospital where he had been a patient since June 16 when he suffered a stroke. He has been recuperating at his Milfad home since his release. E. W. Frauhiger of Syracuse was released from the Goshen hospital on July 4 where he was admitted Sunday, July 1 fa tests. Dr. HerscheH R. CoH, r 4 Syracuse, was dismissed from Elkhart hospital Thursday, July 5. Friends may visit at his home’ in Syracuse. Mrs. Sherman Love, 308 Dolan Dr., Syracuse remains a patient in the Parkview hospital at Fort Wayne, where her condition is listed as poor. She was admitted on June 14 for surgery on a blocked artery.

34 from county attend Round-Up Noble county was represented by 34 persons at the 55th annual 4H Round-Up. It was held at Purdue univeristy, Lafayette, June 25-27. More than 3,000 Indiana youth were in attendance. The varied program provided a memorable experience for each youth attending. Included this year were the clover-ama sessions, chicken barbecue, share-the-fun entertainment, 4-H band and chorus presentations and a number of informal acti vites. Noble county delegates were Brian Stolte and Mike McCoy, Albion; Lee Swogger, Beth Dixon and Cheryl Getts, Allen; Jean Wysong, Elkhart; Jill McDowell, Vicky Troyer and Kim Leitch, Green; Diane Coy, Paula Glass and Vicki Fulk, Jefferson; Ann Huntsman, Deb Stangland, Kim Stangland, Tammy Berkes and Rodney Stampe, Noble; Jackie Ness and Jim Davidson, Sparta; Mary Jo Riecke and John Schuman, Swan; Mary Beth Muesing, Wayne; and Tony Price and Norman Lortie, York. Junior leaders were Nancy Leighty, Debra Barker and David Keefer. They helped with housing of the group. Adult leaders were Mrs. Bruce Stevens and Mrs. Rex Stangland. They assisted Richard Reel,' youth agent and summer helpers Steve Hague and Nona Kay. and Roger Sherer attended as members of the 4-H band. Roger also received-the 4-H achievement award in safety. County to close Ligonier dump Ligonier has been formally, notified by the Noble County Board of Commissioners that the official date for closing of the Ligonier dump site is July 31. The dump at Kendallville will close on August 1 and the date for the Ormas dump closing is Sept. 1. The Ormas site will be covered over by the county at an estimated cost of $5,000. Contracts with Ligonier and Kendallville do not require the county to compact and cova sites. The county sanitary landfiU site will be in opaation on land adjacent to the old Albion dump by August 1.
