Ivy Tech announces Dean's list The Indiana Vocational Technical college (Ivy Tech) at Fort Wayne today announced the names for the Dean’s list. Each quarter the college gives recognition to those students who have attained a grade point average of 3.50 to 4.00 out of a possible 4 points. Two days of activities Members of the Leesburg Merchants association under the direction of president Jim Heierman are planning their annual Leesburg Days festival this coming Friday and Saturday, July 6 and 7. During the two-day event various clubs and organizations will be joining the merchants association in sponsoring several events. An ice cream social will be held Friday beginning at 3 p.m. at the fire station. Homemade ice cream, pie and cake will be served. Parade Steve Rogers is chairman of the annual Leesburg Merchants parade to be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Everyone is invited to participate. The parade will assemble at the railroad station on the east edge of town at 6:30. Shortly after the parade on Friday a cutie king and queen will be crowned. The ceremonies will be conducted at the town hall. Other events for the two-day festival include little league baseball games and a bazaar sponsored by the Leesburg United Methodist church. A bake sale will be held downtown Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. The Leesburg Lions club are sponsoring a chicken barbecue at the fire station between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. on Saturday. “Miss Leesburg Days” will be crowned Saturday night highlighting the two-day affair.

Reports break-in at Leesburg hardware <7 A break-in at the Uptown Hardware store in Leesburg is still under investigation at this time. The break-in was discovered by Darwin Darnell, manager, when he opened for business at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Entry was gained by a back window in the store by an alley. The inventory fa* toe amount of | loss has not been completed. Ronda Hickman now teenager Raida Hickman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hickman, r 3 Syracuse, celebrated her 13th birthday, Friday, June 29, with a party at her hone. Raida and her guests attended toe Mermaid Festival in North Webster after toe party. Helping Raida celebrate were Linda Aleman, Kathy Brouwer, Jenny Boyer, Beth Silveus, Marsha Grim, Cindy Schacht, Teresa Searfoss and Lee Ann Andrews. No injuries in car-truck collision Vehicles driven by Helen M. Roy, 23, r 3 Bristol, and Ronald F. Bridenstine, 57, r 2 Milford, collided Friday at 1:55 p.m. The mishap occurred on Indiana 19 just south of Indiana 119. The Roy woman was driving a 1972 Plymouth and Bridenstine was driving a 1968 Ford truck at toe time of the collision. Elkhart county sheriffs Ptl. Dennis Bechtel set damage at S4OO and no injuries were reported. Always be prepared Always be prepared for anything the other driver might do, urges the Chicago Motor chibAAA. Chain reaction mishap injures two persons A three-car chain reaction collision at 12:10 p.m. Friday resulted in minor injuries to two of three persons involved. Persons involved were Gloria L. Vandermark, 21, r 2 Warsaw, Arthur W. Landis, 57, r 2 Leesburg, and Louise E. Barkman, 51, 708 North Lake St., Warsaw. The accident happened on old US 30, one-half mile west of Warsaw. from behind by the auto driven by Arthur Landis. The Landis auto was then hit by an auto being driven by Louise Barkman. Landis was treated at Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, for a cut on the head and Mrs. Barkman was treated and received stitches for a cut lip.
