THE SINS I see in other folk Are the only ones I mention — Any mistake that I might make Is justified by good intention! ONE OF the M-J gals was quite surprised to learn that our county (Kosciusko) was named after a polish patron, Thaddeus Kosciusko. She, like many others who live in or visit this county, thought it was named after an Indian. Kosciusko was born in 1746 and died in 1817. He was a general who served under Washington during the American Revolution. MR. AND MRS. Ronald Smith have proven that they do live in the town of Milford. There was some question a short time back when they did not receive house numbers from MAD. Seems as though someone misread the old Milford maps and moved the Smiths into Van Buren township. They have been paying town taxes since they purchased the property in the southwest

portion of town several years ago. Now that the Smiths are in town they will be receiving house numbers like everyone else. LAST WEEK we talked about youngsters being careless when riding bicycles. This week we have another comment on bicycles. It seems we have another rash of bike thefts. Quite a few have been reported missing lately. It is a shame when a youngster can’t come to town, park his bike and go into the drug store or another business place without worrying about having his bike L stolen. IF ANYONE wondered what the large Greyhound-type bus was doing in Milford overnight Friday, we can tell them. It belonged to Danny Lee and The Children of Truth, and the gospel singing group spent the night with Danny Lee’s mother, Mrs. Amanda Stutzman of Milford. The group of six sings con-

temporary gospel music, traveling from coast to coast, with members being from Indiana, California, Colorado, Utah and Missouri. They record for RCA records and have appeared on national television. They appeared before 180,000 at Dallas Expo *72 with Johnny Cash and Billy Graham, and have appeared at Madison Square Garden. The group was nominated for a Grammy Award two months ago in best inspirational category for their album “Spread A Little Love Around.” Danny Lee Stutzman formed the group three and a half years ago and writes and arranges all their music. He also does solo work. The group has two albums with RCA and will be recording a third next month. They will appear at Key ’73 at Los Angeles where 80,000 are expected, along with Pat Boone, Andrea Crouch and others. Danny Lee says, “We sing as a witness of the reality of a living Gdd who relates to today’s problems.’* MR. AND Mrs. Jim Avery, Tammy, Tracey and Trisha of r 1 Milford were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nyce of near Milford. The Nyce’s 30th wedding anniversary was observed. The Averys presented the Nyces with one dozen red roses, a two-tiered anniversary cake and a silver tray in honor of their anniversary. Mrs. Avery, the former Crystal Nyce, is the eldest daughter of the couple. The couples’ youngest daughter, Vicki, was in Indianapolis and was unable to attend.

Syracuse Library Notes By BONNIE BJELLA The Syracuse area recently enjoyed an art show of paintings done by students of Martin and Margi Stevens. Several area artists were represented. We are especially grateful for the fine turnout as the proceeds of the show were donated to the library for the purchase of new books for our fine arts department. The donation for this purpose totaled SSO. As the new bodes come in we will announce their availability. Our thanks to the group for their generosity. Some new books in the adult department are: Halberstam — “The Best And The Brightest” Truman — “Harry S. Truman” Shaw — “Everything In Byzantium” Seton — “Green Darkness” Lindbergh — “Hour Os Gold, Hour Os Lead” Howar — “Laughing All The Way”
