The Merry Maidens 4-H club met with Barbara Robbins on Thursday. Cletus Myers was host to 35 Ford parts and servicemen of this district at their monthly meeting held Friday evening in the Myers sales room. The mother-daughter party given annually by the Eta Beta Pi sorority was held at Katie’s tea room on Monday evening. Work on the Lakeside park at Milford Lake is progressing rapidly. Bill Little will leave New York City July 1 for Frankfort, Germany, where he will begin his work as traveling auditor for the army publication, Stars and Stripes. The Milford Grain and Milling company has been purchased by Donald B. Ahrns of Deshler, Ohio, who will take possession on Monday, June 20. With the new laws passed by the last session of the legislature in effect, fishermen will be required to produce license to fish in the counties of their residence. The first band concert will be held on Saturday night, June 17. Edna Augspurger met with an accident last week which caused an infection to start in her right hand. Nine head of hogs were stolen from the Enos Hollar farm near Hastings that were valued at SSO. Gene Harley has recently purchased the Jet White store in Leesburg. On Wednesday noon an accident occurred north of here hear New Paris when about eight feet of the pavement was blown up by heat expansion.
