Warriorette track team finishing winning season
With only one meet left in the season the Wawasee high school girls track team has a 4-0 record and has qualified 14 girls in 22 events at the district meet on May 7. The lone meet left on the regular schedule will be Friday night when the Warriors will host Warsaw at 4 p.m. On April 17 the season opened in a triangular meet with Wawasee scoring 104 points, Mishawaka scoring 70 points and the girls from Elkhart Memorial scoring 38 points. The following evening the young Warriorettes scored 81 points while North Wood scored 53

and Elkhart Central scored 45. On April 24 Wawasee scored 71% points to John Glenn’s 43 points and Concord’s 24%. In a match against West Noble on April 26 the girls scored a 101 to 35 victory. Syracuse wins triangular track meet at Milford
Syracuse junior high defeated Wakarusa and Milford in a triangular track meet at Milford last Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets scored seven firsts and eight seconds to run up 72 x /t points to Wakarusa’s 44% and Milford’s 19. The outstanding effort of the meet was an 11 foot, three inch pole vault by Myers of Wakarusa

Warrior golf team scores 3 victories
Over the past seven days members of the Wawasee high school golf team have scored three victories. They have wins over Northridge, North Wood and Concord. The B-team has scored like victories. North Wood In the match against North Wood on Wednesday, April 25, the Warriors scored 163 to NorthWood’s 168. The individual scorers of the Warriors were as follows: Bob Bauman, 36; Greg Ummel, 40; Rot Bauman,' 43; Mark Randall, 44; and Randy Rich, 46. High individual scorers for North Wood were Blake Hepler, 38; Karl Kindig, 42; Jim Miller, 44; John Stalmaker, 44; and Greg Bigler, 46. The B-team won its match 167202. Jon Owens was low medalist for the Warriors with 38 while Steve Lantz led the North Wood Panthers with 47. Northridge The Wawasee golf teams had a successful evening against Northridge Thursday, April 26. 11)6 varsity team won its match 162 to 175 and the B-team won its match 175 to 192. The matches were played at the South Shore Golf course at Syracuse. High individual scorers for Wawasee were as follows: Mark Randall, 39; Greg Ummel, 40; Bob Bauman, 41; Ron Bauman, 42; and Randy Rich, 45.
Winner named in club tourney at Wawasee Bowl
A 500 club and 600 club tournament was held last Friday at Wawasee Bowl with Dick Thibaut rolling a 672 for top honors in the 600 club and Donna Mangona rolling a 618 taking top honors in the 500 club. Tuesday afternoon ladies end bowling season recently The State Bank of Syracuse team was hostess for the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies Bowling banquet recently concluding the bowling season for the league. Members of the hosting team were Anita Peterson, Barbara Mills, Ann Dahlstrom, Judy Schmahl and Mary Lou Lambert. » A total of 16 geraniums centered the dining tables and were later awarded as door prizes. Officers elected for the 1973-74 season were: President — Mrs. Peterson Vice president — Joan Stoelting Secretary-treasurer — Sally Yeargain Sergeant-at-arms — Mary Willard Trophies and winning patched went to Mrs. Willard, Betty List, Leila Connolly, Ann Gallahan and Mary Lou Dixon, members of the Wawasee Laundromat team and league champions. . Special awards went to Mrs. Schmahl for bowling 100 pins over her average, and Ruth Banta and Mrs. Willard for triplicate scores. High individual scorers for Northridge were Dennis Stalter, 40; Pat Groves, 42; Ed Gerwels, 45; Tom Biller, 48; and Jeff Boomershine, 49. For the Wawasee B-team the high individual scorers were Jon Owens, Sam Ludwig and Phil Randall, all with 43. High individual scorer for Northridge on the B-team was Pat Pletcher with 46. Concord On Monday night the Warriors took on the Concord Minutemen in what proved to be a close match for the A-team. The Warriors scored a 163-164 victory over Concord. Scores for A-team members were as follows: Bob Bauman 37; Greg Ummel, 38; Ron Bauman, 40; Mark Randall, 48; and Randy Rich, 52. * Members of the Concord team scored as follows: Rusty Harris, 36; Jim Artly, 40; Ted Grover, 42; Randy Siler, 46; and Bob Grant, 50. The B-team also won another victory, 166-210 over Concord. Jon Owens was low medalist for Wawasee with 40 and Ed Stutsman was low for Concord with 51. The new- freshman golf team took to the course on Monday and stopped the Concord team 199125. Members of the Warrior team were Larry Allen, Bruce Moore, Rich Littlefield and Greg Smith.
High series scratch for the women went to Gloria Thwaits with a 537 Tom Younce for the men with a 627. High game scratch for the women went to Sherry Brown with a 206. Doyle Butler rolled a 277 for top single game scratch honors for men.

letter in the club. The outstanding club member of the year, Yvonne Spurling, served at a total of 55 sports events during the school year. The Girls’ Sports club was organized for the purpose of serving the total sports program at Wawasee —a total of nine competitive boys’ sports. The girls also served at various events of the Girls’ Athletic Association of the high school. Various duties and responsibilities assigned to the members by the coaches included scorekeepers, timers, record keepers, program handouts, rope holders, announcers, press box “runners,” bat girls, ribbon handouts, etc. Distinctive as a “unique” club for this area, the members are looking forward to a successful year again next year.
