Ronald Clingaman takes part in training session ALEXANDRIA, La. — US Air Force captain Ronald L. Clingaman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Clingaman of r 1 Syracuse took part recently in an Atlantic command joint training exercise in North Carolina. Captain Clingaman, a pilot, with the A-7D Corsair-equipped 23d tactical fighter wing at England AFB, La., was among 42,000 members of the air force, army, navy and marine corps who participated in the masssive air, sea and land Operation — dubbed “Exotic Dancer VI” — conducted in the Camp Lejeune area. The maneuvers included simulated air strikes preparatory to the airdrop of army troops and close air support missions for the assault landing of the marine task force during the mock battle. His unit is a part of the tactical air command which provides air suppor for US ground forces. Captain Clingaman, who has served in Viet Nam is a 1962 graduate of North Side high school, Fort Wayne. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1966 from Purdue university and was commissioned there through the reserve officers training corps program. His wife is the former Reba J. Wells. Milford police arrest six over past week Members of the Milford police department made a total of six arrests over the past week end. Arrested were the following persons: Jerry L. Young, 36,102 Church street, Claypool, who was taken to the county jail for public intoxication; Young was also wanted by the Warsaw police for failure to appear oh charges of operating a vehicle with no license Wade E. Stephenson, 27, W. Walnut street, Nappanee, for driving under the influence and public intoxication, he was booked at the county jail A 15-year-old juvenile was picked up by town marshal Don Drake on Saturday and taken to the sheriff’s department for violation of probation Sammy M. Warsaw area realtors host district workshop In a continuing endeavor to be educated and well informed in their profession, the Warsaw Area Board of Realtors recently hosted an all day workshop for District three of the Indiana Realtors Association. There were 180 members in attendance from 11 northeastern counties of Indiana. During the day four films were shown on subjects pertaining to real estate. Following each an one hour discussion and study program was headed by a realtor who had become a graduate of the Indiana Real Estate Institute (a state supervised three year study program in affiliation with Indiana university). Serving on the committee were realtors Larry Nellans, chairman; Dick Riedel and Bill Warren of Warsaw. The Warsaw area board of realtors has 27 active members and 51 associate and affiliate members from Kosciusko county and the west one-half of Whitley county. Officers are: Joe K. North Wood senior receives National Merit Scholarship Daniel Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bell of 308 Wabash avenue, Wakarusa, has been named the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship this past week. Dan is a senior at North Wood high school and has the distinction of being the first North Wood student to receive a National Merit Scholarship. This North Wood senior will be attending Taylor university next fall and has won the Bendix Corporation Merit scholarship. Dan has been a member of the North Wood football team and has participated in band and choir. Being named a National Merit Scholarship winner is one of the highest academic honors available to high school seniors throughout the United States. This spring 25 high school seniors from the state of Indiana have been named as National Merit Scholarship winners.

Escapes injury in auto mishap Jackie Sue Agullana, 22, r 1 Syracuse, escaped injury at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday when her 1965 Dodge went out of control on US 6 and crashed into a fence at the Jim Walters property. The Syracuse driver was westbound on 6 east of county road at the time and a quantity of snow had fallen during the night. Damage by Elkhart county officers was set at $350. April dance is set at Syracuse Roger Rink and his cordovox will supply the music for the April 28 dance at the Syracuse American Legion post. On May 1 at 8 p.m. Legion members are to meet at the home to elect officers. ■ lb TOP SALESMAN AGAIN — Bernard B. Beer, salesman for McCormick Motors Co., Nappanee, was named “top salesman’’ for the South Bend division of Chevrolet Motors for the fifth time at a division meeting at South Bend Monday night. Beer, who has been a Legion of Leaders club member for the past 11 years, has been a salesman at McCormick Motors Co. for 12 years. The South Bend division of Chevrolet Motors includes such towns as South Bend, Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids and Muskegon, Mich. Top salesman Beer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Beer of Milford and a member of the Milford high school graduating class of 1958.
