Otto C. Sierk Funeral services were held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 1:30 in the funeral home in Milford for Otto C. Sierk, 67, r 2 Milford. » Sierk died Sunday at 4:50 p.m. in the Murphy Medical Center at Warsaw of complications. He was born in Anchor, 111., on October 17, 1905 to George and Catherine (Huerer) Sierk. He resided in Hastings for the past 52 years, living with his brother Rudolph. He never married. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving with the Milford brother are three sisters, Mrs. Lester (Elsie) Long of Bremen, Mrs. Hugh (Marie) Decker of Elkhart and Miss Anna Sierk of Michigan City. Two brothers preceded him in death. Rev. James Simpson officiated at the services. He is pastor of the Saint John’s Lutheran church in Nappanee. Burial was in Stony Point cemetery. Lucille Scott Mrs. Wayne (Lucille) Scott, employee at the Banner Fountain for the past 12 years, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Goshen hospital. She was taken to the hospital Friday morning after she was

found in her home on Gerber street. She failed to arrive at work as usual, and Steve Pettit went to her home to inquire about her. He found the house locked, then called his father, who with police, entered the home and found Mrs. Scott on the bathroom floor. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Friday was her first day to work on a part time schedule, and other employees at Banner Fountain had planned a surprise noon-time party for her, according to Mr. Pettit. Services for Mrs. Scott were held at the Ligonier funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. Rev. Charles Elam of the Ligonier United Methodist church officiated. Burial was in Oak Park cemetery. Only cousins survive. John Fowler Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday for John Fowler, 48, 625 South Lake St., Warsaw, and former Milford resident, who passed away Monday at 1:30 a.m. Death came at the Murphy Medical Center, Warsaw, and was due to an apparent heart attack. He had been ill for the past 14 years. Mr. Fowler was born on July 4, 1924 in Milford to Mose and Lena May (Maggart) Fowler. He was united in marriage to June Jones on September 10, 1949 and she survives. He was employed as a painter. Surviving with the widow is one son, Pride Fowler, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Christine) Rhoades, Pierceton; four brothers, George, Detroit, Mich., Lloyd of Redford, Mich., Chester of Milford and James of LaGrange; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Adair, Wawaka, Mrs. Earl (Mary Jane) May, Wayne, Mich.,
Mrs. Julia Donovan, Rochester, N. Y., and Mrs. Wilma Strine, Livonia, Mich. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Rev. Gene Kuehn and Rev. Kenneth Leininger officiated for the funeral services and interment was in the Hoover cemetery near Milford. Mrs. Arthur Johnson Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. Nadine Johnson, 84, a resident of r 4 Syracuse, in the Eldon Steve Barthlomew home. Death came Thursday in the Alfran nursing home at Columbia City and was due to complications following failing health fir several years. She was born September 11, 1888 at Shelbyville, a daughter of Lambert and Termelia (Stars) Pollitt. Her husband, Arthur, {receded her in death in 1950. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the United Methodist church at Syracuse. Survivors include one brother, Arthur Pollitt of Grants Pass, Ore.; and two sisters, Mary Becker, and Mrs. Lee D. Oroba, both of Baltimore, Md. Interment was in Syracuse cemetery. <0 Mrs. Roy Koontz Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) for Mrs. Zoa M. Koontz, 87, Goshen and a native of Syracuse. Death came Sunday morning at Greencroft nursing center, Goshen, where she had been a patient since October due to a heart condition. Mrs. Koontz was born near Syracuse on April 19, 1885 to Oscar and Mary Ott. Her first husband, Daniel Botts, passed away in 1915 and her second husband, George Schrock, died in 1932. Mr. Koontz also preceded her in death in 1950. She was active in the Saint Mark’s Methodist church, Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, Barracks 855 of the World War I auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Goshen Rebekah lodge. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lois Zimmerman of Elkhart; one sister, Mrs. Glen Bailey, Benton; three grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Burial was in Solomon’s Creek cemetery. Anna (Zinn) Summerlott Funeral services were held at an Elkhart funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for Mrs. Wilbur (Anna I. Zinn) Summerlott, 63, 525 Concord Ave., Elkhart. Mrs. Summerlott, a native of the Hastings community, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Elkhart hospital where she had been a patient one day. She was born in Hastings, in the home where Mrs. Esther Charlton now resides, on April 16, 1909. She and Wilbur Summerlott were married in Elkhart on April 16, 1926. Surviving with the husband are
a daughter, Mrs. Jean Borelli of Elkhart; a grandson; and two sisters, Mrs. Dale Becker of Elkhart and Miss Ruby Zinn of Miami, Fla. Rev. Richard M. Etner of the First Baptist church officiated at the service. Burial was in the Prairie Street cemetery. Harold Craig Harold Craig, 58, r 1 Etna Green, and stepfather of Roy Brock, r 2 Milford, passed away Saturday at 2 p.m. Death was due to an apparent heart attack and came at his home. Mr. Craig was born on March 12, 1915 in Plymouth to George Herbert and Ada Princess (Berkeypile) Craig and was united in marriage to Ruth Klotz Brock on March 19,1960. He was a farmer and former employee of Mutschler Brothers Co., Nappanee. Surviving with the widow and stepson is his mother, Mrs. Princess Craig, Bremen; one other stepson, Warren Brock, r 2 Nappanee; eight stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Harry Craig, Bremen, and Dale Craig, Columbia City; five sisters, Miss Edith Craig, Bremen, Miss Esther Craig and Mrs. Dale (Edna) Gibboney, both of Elgin, 111., Mrs. Alice Griemann, Bonifay Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Roderick (Wilma) Ralston, Plattsville, Wis. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jack Kline officiating. Interment was in the Union Center cemetery.
