Triton high school is 1973 sectional host

For the second time in its young history Triton high school has been named by the Indiana High School Athletic Association as host for the 1973 sectional tournament. Trition was host for the 1971 tournament. Triton high school is a consolidation of Bourbon, Etna Green and Tippecanoe. The school is located at the east edge of Bourbon. Last year the tournament was held in Warsaw. Many persons believe that as long as Warsaw and Triton both apply for the right to host the sectional it will be alternated between the two schools. Only time and the IHSAA can tell if this is a correct statement or not. It is a proven fact, however, that for the past four

years the tourney has gone from Warsaw to Triton, back to Warsaw and now back to Triton. The Triton gym seats 3,474 persons while the Warsaw gym seats 3,409 Schools participating in the Triton sectional are the same as those who participated in the Warsaw sectional last year — Akron, Mentone, Rochester, Warsaw, Wawasee and host Triton. Two games will be played on Thursday night, two on Friday night and the championship game on Saturday night. Triton high school was built |n 1968 with the building serving both the junior high and senior high school students.
