Trial date set on drug charges Kosciusko circuit court judge Gene B. Lee has set a trial date of March 5 for David Franklin Coppes, 22, r 1 Syracuse, on drug charges. Coppes pleaded not guilty in circuit court last Friday to two counts of possessing codeine, two counts of selling codeine, one court of possessing marijuana and one court of selling marijuana. Coppes was arrested on November 17, along with Janie Gonzales, 20, at the Coppes home following a police raid. An affidavit was filed charging Coppes .with selling marijuana and a susbtance containing codeine to state undercover agents. The undercover agent also added he had made a purchase from Coppes on October 31, however, the March jury trial of the state vs. Coppes will be related to the November 17 incident. Confiscated goods at the raid totaled >13,000 worth of marijuana and hash, a militarytype simulator hand grenade, and a slot machine. Warsaw attorney Stanley Pequignot represented Coppes at the Friday hearing, whereby Coppes pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on a >24,000 property bond which was filed to release him from jail shortly after his arrest. KoKi girls elect officers By ANGIE REED On January 9 the KoKi Camp Fire girls met under the leadership of Mrs. Thomas Leonard with five girls present. New officers for the current year are: President — Cathy Leonard Vice president — Laura Kroh Secretary — Angie Reed Treasurer — Jan Miller Scribe — Mary Jqne Cox Caller — Lauri Brouwer Recreational activities — Marjie Pittman. The group discussed symbols that could be used to distinguish their group from other camp fire groups. We also talked about each of our chosen Indian names and the meanings of each name. Games were played and refreshments were served. The next meeting will be an ice skating party at the home of Jan Miller.
