County Firms Increase Their U.F. Pledges
Many firms in the Kosciusko county area have increased their United Fund pledges according to an announcement by John R. Hall, general campaign chairman. In making the statement Mr. Hall said, “We are deeply grateful that so many of our firms are responding generously to our call for additional funds for our 16 human service agencies of the United Fund. These agencies are helping to make Kosciusko county a better place to work, earn and play. Civil Defense Meets Thursday The Syracuse Civil Defense unit met Thursday night for the regularly scheduled October meeting with vice president Terry Rookstool presiding. Regular reports were given and city director Charles Vanderveer read the by-laws. Several places were suggested for the unit’s night out in December with a report to be given at the next meeting on November 16. Rally Day At Hastings On Sunday Members of the Island Chapel United Methodist church at Hastings will observe their annual Rally Day activities on Sunday, Oct. 29.
