Leesburg Club Has Picnic At Winona Lake Members of the Leesburg Home Ec Extension club met last Wednesday evening at the Winona Lake home of Mrs. Josephine Hopkins. Mrs. John Lurson served as co-hostess for the carry-in dinner. A total of 19 members and one guest, Marjorie Edman of Urbana, 111., answered roll call by telling what they learn from today’s teenagers. The president opened the meeting in the usual form and the history of the song of the month, “In The Good Old Summertime” was given. Mrs. Dale Morehouse gave devotions and read the poem, “The End of the Road is but the Bend of the Road.” The health and safety remarks were on “Mosquitos” by Mrs. Kenneth Hartman. Mrs. Lurson gave garden remarks on planting late gardens and spring bulbs. The club members were urged to attend the home makers conference at Camp Mack, near Milford, on September 11 and 12. The program for the day was presented by Steven Carson on “Drugs” with comments on marijuana and heroin being given by Eric Boyd. Doot prizes were won by Mrs. Mabie Klouse and Mrs. Emory Stockey. The next meeting will be September 20 at the home of Mrs. H.
