department continue investigation into a break-in at the Byron Grubb home, r 2 Syracuse, located northeast of Syracuse last week. Taken in the break-in were a digital clock and AM-FM radio unit, a Gruen wrist watch, and a 1914 Rockford watch, valued at over $250. Entry into the home was gained by cutting a rear door screen. Million Chevrolet Sales In One Hundred Days Gordon McCormick, McCormick Motors, Inc., Nappanee, played a supporting role in helping make automotive marketing history recently . . the sale of 334 Chevrolet cars and trucks within a 100-day period. The 1,000,000-unit mark was topped with the aid of the more than 6,000 Chevrolet dealers across the country in the 100-day period of April 21 through July 31. It marked the first time any automotive manufacturer has sold that many cars and trucks in any 100-day period. “I am proud that our dealership and our customers played a part in this amazing sales accomplishment,” Gordon McCormick said. “We believe the record speaks for itself as evidence of the strength of the economy and the importance of the automotive industry in making it strong.” As a comparison to the 100-day mark, it took Chevrolet nearly 11 years (1912 to 1923) to sell its first million cars and trucks, Gordon McCormick observed. Last year, he said, Chevrolet sold a record 3,002,315 vehicles. He noted that, in the record-

Meeting Set For Webster Lake Ass'n. The Webster Lake Conservation Association meeting is scheduled for this Saturday, Aug. 19, at7:3o p.m. in the basement of the North Webster Methodist church and all interested persons are urged to attend. Included4n the agenda will be election of officers and a discussion of the biological survey. •« Music Committee To Be At Salem The Music Committee, an area gospel quartet, will be featured in the program Sunday night, Aug. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the New Salem Church of the Brethren. This quartet is highly entertaining and has been praised for its outstanding harmony. Members are Loran Sims, Gerald Miller, Phil St. John and John Kirkpa trick. The public is invited to attend the program. The New Salem church is located at the corner of 900 N and 200E, southeast of Milford. It is happier to be sometimes cheated than not to trust.
