Football Jamboree Set At Nappanee August 26
The annual football jamboree featuring Wawasee, Plymouth, Tokeland and North Wood will be held at Memorial field on state road 19 north of Nappanee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26. Plymouth and North Wood will dress in white uniforms while Wawasee and Lakeland will dress in their colored uniforms.

Awards night for the Syracuse Pony League was held on Wednesday, Aug. 9. The evening started with a dad and lad baseball game which the dads won 6-5. The Syracuse team completed the season with a 15-4 record. On Sunday the boys will be traveling to White Sox’s park in Chicago to watch a game there. Awards were presented as follows: Most Outstanding Infielder — Dale Ganz was credited with being the most outstanding infielder defensively. He had a batting average of 446. Pitching trophy — Berry Coy was awarded the pitching trophy for the year. He had a 15=-! record. Home run leader — Jeff Miller, the team’s . catcher, was the team’s home run leader. Batting trophy — Clem Lisor won the batting trophy with an average of 457. He led the team in its offensive department.
Monday Men's Bowling League To Meet The County Bowling league for the Monday Night Men’s league will hold it’s organizational meeting on Monday, Aug. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Wawasee Bowl south of Syracuse. Team captains and members, plus interested bowlers, are urged to attend this important meeting. Bowling Meeting Set For Aug. 23 The late shift for the Wednesday Night Mixed bowling league at Syracuse has announced an organizational meeting is set for Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m. at Wawasee Bowl. All interested persons are urged to attend this important meeting.

North Wood's Adult Tickets Go On Sole
Northwood’s adult reserve football tickets will go on sale in the principal’s office at North Wood high school on Wednesday, Aug; 23. Panther football fans desiring select seating near the 50 yard line are encouraged to purchase tickets at their earliest convenience. Adult reserve season tickets are priced at $6 for the 1972 season. Adults desiring to purchase reserved student tickets with the adult ticket may do so when purchasing their tickets. The price of the student reserved season ticket is $3.25. Students at North Wood high school may purchase their season tickets on Thursday, Aug. 31. Admission at the gate for all Panther football games will be $1.25 for adults and students. Students in the Wa-Nee schools will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for single games
