Burgher, 1401 Ranch road, social studies. Minor Damage In Two-Vehicle Mishap Minor damage was listed last Tuesday for a two-vehicle mishap at Main street and Dolan drive, Syracuse. Authorities reported a 1966 Ford truck driven by Nellis R. Kunce, 26, r 1 Cromwell, stopped at the intersection stop sign and inquired directions from the police officer on duty. A 1969 Chevrolet, operated by Mrs. Gene Hall, 45, Syracuse, stopped behind the Kunce truck and Kunce reported not seeing the Chevrolet which bumped as Kunce attempted to back the truck. Damage was listed at $25 to the Hall auto with no damage to the truck. Indiana State On Early Semester Plan TERRE HAUTE — Following the trend at colleges and universities all over the country, Indiana State university this year for the first time will operate on the early semester plan starting classes while the ‘good old summertime’ is at its height and making the traditional June commencement a thing of the past. Under the plan first proposed by the student body, adopted by the faculty and approved by the trustees, classes will start in late August and the year will end in early May. To the delight of students, the first semester will close before Christmas thereby providing a vacation free from worry or study for final examinations. The revised calendar starts the first semester with advisement and registration on August 28-30 and classes begin August 31. Thanksgiving vacation is set for November 22-26 and the semester aids December 23. The second semester advisement and registration period is January 8-10 and classes start January 11. Last day of final exams is May 11 and spring commencement is Sunday, May 13. Dates for the university’s two five-week summer sessions are June 11-July 17 and July 18August 21, and the summer commencement will be held Tuesday, August 21.
