I i facts about WR TOWN’ * Milford, Ind. By JERI SEELY Bud and I joined Ed and Jean Sauer of Warsaw at Leader Dog school in Rochester, Mich., over the week end. The District Governors, their Leader Dog committeemen and their wives from Indiana and Pennsylvania were given the VIP treatment at the school. We enjoyed seeing the students at the school work with their? dogs in downtown Rochester and following a tour of the kennels, dorm and grounds at the school were introduced to each of the students and their dogs. Trainers work with the dogs for three months and then with the dog and its new owner for an additional month. On an average three of every 19 dogs taken to the school completes the course and becomes a Leader Dog. Lions of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Illinois join the Lions of Michigan in helping to support the school. The teams (blind person and dog) are trained free of charge at the school with no charge being made for the dog either. Any Lion or Lions club is free to make an application to the school requesting a Leader Dog be given
