He conies to Milford from the Syracuse store where he was an assistant manager. has lived in the Syracuse community since 1964. He is a native of Nappanee. He and his wife, the former Sally Yoder, have two sons, Scott, 7, and Todd, 8. Car Skids Into Truck An auto driven by Nancy J. Brown, 25, r 1 Leesburg, collided with a truck driven by James C. Kinsley, 62, 620 North Wilkinson St., Goshen, on Thursday afternoon and resulted in S6OO damage. The accident occurred at SR 15, two and one half miles north of Warsaw. Nancy Brown told officers that a truck stopped in front of her as they were proceeding north on SR 15 and as she attempted to stop the car it slid sideways into the southbound lane at which time it collided with the Kinsley truck. Damage was estimated at S6OO to the Brown car and damage was reported to the grill, bumper, left door and left side of the Kinsley truck. f District Confab > In Goshen On July 21, 22 and 23 Members of the Bethel Church of the Brethren of Milford, the Bethany Church of the Brethren of New Paris, the New Salem A Church of the Brethren, the Syracuse Church of the Brethren and the North Webster Church of the Brethren, will be participating in the 1972 district conference of the Church of the Brethren in Northern Indiana. The conference will be held in the Goshen City church on July 21, 22 and 23. The major theme of the conference is “God’s Love — Pass it on.” The sub-themes are: “God’s Love — It Works,” “God’s Love — It’s Real,” and “God’s Love — It Changes Me.” The business session will be held Friday evening and all day Saturday. Saturday night will be youth night. There will be special music and a special consecration service on Sunday. ' Speakers for the occasion will be Nevin Zuck, Michael Hodson, J. Wilbur Lewallen and Lester Young. Ronald Stouder At Fort Ord FORT ORD, CALIF. — Private Ronald E. Stouder, 19, son of Mrs. Mabie A. Stouder, 431 Vi N. Huntington, Syracuse, is assigned to Fort Ord, Calif., where he is training under the modern volunteer army program. Die program combines basic and advanced individual training (AIT) into an average 16-week program, depending on the AIT the soldier receives after completing basic. Decentralized instruction at the unit level and a reduction of formations and inspections give the soldier more time to train and increased offduty time. Fewer restrictions on off-duty travel and improved living facilities are other benefits of the program. Pvt. Stouder began his training with company D, 4th battalion, Ist brigade on June 7 and is scheduled to complete the first phase on August 4. He is a 1972 graduate of Wawasee high school. TWINS GIVE BIRTHDAY i PARTY FOR MOTHER Robert and Roberta Stouder, 17-year-old twins, gave a surprise birthday party and dinner for their mother, Mrs. Mabel Stouder, at her home at 431 A4 North Huntington street, Syracuse, last Wednesday evening. Mrs. Stouder received a number of very nice gifts from her children and guests at the affair. Attending besides those mentioned were Mr. and Mrs. Paul LaFever and family of Fort Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Trammel and family of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Ear} Saunders and family, also of Syracuse.
