ONE YEAR AGO Bold thieves stole six Johnson outboard motors from Al’s South Shore Marine south of Syracuse sometime Friday night at a value of $2,000. plus other vandalism. A three-vehicle crash occurred around 1 p.m. Friday at the junction of U.S. 6, SR 13 and CR 33 (Indiana 313) ai the blinker light one mile north of Syracuse. Mrs. Elma Ketering was honored recently fa- 50 years service to the North American Benefit Association. The TOPS Minnie Mizers club <rf Syracuse attended the TOPS area meeting at New Paris last week with 131 members of various chapters present. The Philip Metcalfs of Muncie are now making residence on r 2 Syracuse. Mrs. Ralph Enoch, r 2 Syracuse, has returned from a week with the Jerold Peterson family at Clemson, S.C. The boy scouts at Syracuse received this past week, a new 15foot canoe, a gift of the SyracuseWawasee Rotary club. Mrs. Jack Stoelting and son, J. Named For; Winter Term At Davenport Business College Ronald Graber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graber of r 4 Syracuse, has been named to the academic honors list, and Alan Butt, son of Mrs: Virginia Butt of Warsaw and the late O. C. Butt, Syracuse, to the dean’s list, fa the past winter term at Davenport college of business, Grand Rapids, Mich. To receive the honor of being placed on the academic honors list, the student must earn a “B+” (3.5) grade average or better. Those placed on |he dean's list must earn a “B” (3.0) grade average fa the wak taken during the term. The winners are the upper 25 per cent of the total college enrollment of 850 students. Davenport college is a junior college of business and a special purpose college that offers specialized courses in business education. A high percentage of students on the academic honors list and the dean’s list also participate in the college work-study program and are employed part time in business offices.
