attended the special meeting held at the elementary school gym Thursday evening The mothers and daughters of the First Brethren church and their special guests met at the church Thursday evening for a potluck supper. The younger Brownies met in the elementary school Tuesdayafter school for the last meeting until September. Delbert Dippon and his son Jeff saw a young deer near their farm west of Milford at about 5 p.m. Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kerlin spent Saturday and Sunday in Lafayette where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Groves and sons, Gary and Gage.

On Saturday evening they attended the 25th anniversary show of the Purdue Glee club at Music Hall. 24 YEARS AGO. MAY 8.1848 Miss Eloise Pinkerton who has been visiting relatives at Warsaw, Mo., for the past three weeks is expected home Friday. Miss Peggy Miller was hostess at a miscellaneous shower at her home Friday evening, the guest of honor being Miss Patricia Wiggs. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Steffen have announced this week that they have set aside a portion of their farm, located on the southwest banks of Waubee Lake, have had it platted and are selling it off in lake frontage lots. The front of the Donald Fox residence on West Catherine street is undergoing some repairs. Mr. Fox is having the front porch rebuilt. Pilot Herbert Felkner and passenger Howard Haab were caught in the severe wind and thunder storm in central Indiana Sunday when they were returning from Bloomington by air. Baccalaureate services for the graduating class of Milford high school will be held at the First Brethren church Sunday. The interior of the post office has been redecorated, the painting job having been done by James Barnes. Love Is Serving Set For Program “Love Is Serving,’’ will be the theme of the very special program on Sunday evening of this week at the Mount Tabor Church of God, six miles south of Nappanee. The WCSC, which is the Women’s group of the church will be conducting the evening worship service at 7:30 p.m. This program will be the annual dedication of the thank offering barrells of the women of the church.
