MILFORD Library Notes By MRS. DONN KESLER The library has been in a state of confusion the past week, due to the arrival of three new doublefaced steel book cases, which in turn has caused the librarians to move thousands of books, practically every book in the adult section will be moved to a different location before the final arrangement is achieved. So if we appear a bit stooped and weary, bear with us; come in and * see how you like the new arrangements. We continue to receive new books as memorials, the latest placed on the selves in The American Cowboy In Life And Legend by Bart McDowell. It is a National Geographic Society book and is beautifully illustrated, with photographs and paintings. It was by the American Legion Auxiliary in memory of George Fox. Other memorials are being ordered and will be listed at a later date. Adult books that will be of interest to adults include, Black Company, the true story of the sub-chaser PC 1264. by Eric Purdon. This is an account of an experiment by the Navy which was directly responsible for more rapid integration of the Negroes into the U.S. Navy. Ecology of North America. This book defines ecology as meaning “study of the home”. It seems plants and animals living in their home environment surviving because of one another. It is a timely subject and a beautifully illustrated volume. The Politics of Ecology by James Ridgeway is a nationwide handbook fa- survival — your ( survival. Citizen Nader by McCarry, is the biography of one of the major public figures of recent years. <> God’s Oddling, by Jesse Stuart is the story of his father Nick Stuart’s life. The reader learns erf family life in the Kentucky hill country. Many new books have been added to the Children’s Room collections. We are planning an interesting program for the Summer Reading Groups which will include the Wee Readers and boys and girls in the first four grades. More information will be given at later dates. The library will be closed Thursday, May 4, and the librarians, Mrs. Charles Kerlin, Mrs. Donn Kesler and Mrs. Phillip Angle will attend the. . District 2 meeting of librarians and library trustees, which will be held in Decatur. Remember this date and plan to get your books on another day.
