Charles E. Wilcox Charles E. Wilcox, 63,500 Front St., Syracuse, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 16. Death occurred at the Weatherhead Company of Syracuse where he was employed as an electrician. Y>eath was due to a heart ailment. He was born to Charles and Elnora (Darr) Wilcox on October 24. 1908. He had resided most of his life in the Syracuse community. Wilcox was a veteran of World Wat II and a member of Syracuse Masonic Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend and American L/egion Post 223. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Susan) Deuel of Elkhart; two grandchildren; and "fc number of cousins. Burial was in the Syracuse cemetery. Rev. F. K. Bass of the First United Methodist church of Elkhart officiated. American Legion graveside services were also conducted. -Miss Grace Rockwell Miss Grace DeWaele Rockwell, 86, a native of Goshen and former operator of the antique and gift shop on the Eli Lilly estate at Lake Wawasee, died Sunday afternoon at Goshen hospital she had been a patient since August She had been in failing health for three years Also operator of a gift shop at Goshen. Miss Rockwdl was born in Goshen on February 1,1886, to Byron and Pauline (DeWaele) Rockwell. She was a member of the Saint James Episcopal church at Goshen where services were held Tuesday. Survivors include a brother. Robert of Alexandria. La., and a number of nieces and nephews. Neva M. ' Friday, March 11. She had been ill since December. She was born in Avilla on February 28, 1906, to Perry Foster and Lui? E. (Fryar) Foster. On June 12, 1928, she married Joseph Ruch. He preceded her in death in 1953. She was a bookkeeper at The Columbia club and had resided in Indianapolis for the past 15 years. Surviving are one son. Conservation district supervisors planned for area activities at their March meeting. Farm Leaders To Meet On March 29 WARSAW — Farm leaders from several counties in northeastern Indiana will meet at the Shrine Building in Warsaw beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 29th. Hosting the meeting at the fairgrounds is the Kosciusko county Farm Bureau. Hollys Moon, director of the legislative department for the Indiana Farm Bureau, will address the multi-county meeting. Moon, who heads the lobbying activities of the nation’s largest state Farm Bureau, will briefly review t|ie activities of the recent 30-day session of the Indiana General Assembly. “In spite of what many people said about a ‘do-nothing’ legislature, there were some significant bills passed in this past session,” Moon said in commenting on the coming meeting. He cited bills in such vital areas as environmental management and county government. Moon is also expected tooutline step-by-step the action necessary to get property tax relief accomplished in the Hoosier state. Another subject discussed by Moon will be that of legislative apportionment. Local Farm Bureau leaders participating on the evening program are Harold Gawthrop, president of the Kosciusko County Farm Bureau; devotions by Glenn Disher; and musical entertainment by the Carlberg Sisters. George Neff, Goshen, is director of the Fann Bureau District Two, and Mrs. George Felger, Churubusco, is district woman leader. Counties included in the district are: Allen, Dekalb, Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley. Honor Rolls For Fourth Grading Period At North Webster Jr. Hi

Following are the students who have earned the right to have their names on the distinguished or regular honor rolls at North Webster junior high school for the fourth grading period: Distinguished Eighth grade — Jane Fawley, Debbie Engelberth and Marlys Staley Seventh grade — Fran Weicht and Caryl Coy Sixth grade — Mark Walgamuth, Greg White, Stuart Return From Trip To Holy Land Pastor and Mrs. Bob Mundy, along with several other members of the congregation of the Wawasee Heights Baptist church at Syracuse, have returned from a ten-day tour erf the Holy Land. The trip started on March 6 taking the group from Indianapoiis to New York and Paris before landing in Tel Aviv, Israel on March 7. The first night there was in a hotel on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea at the town of Ashkelon, birthplace of Herod the Great. The fallowing day, a bus trip took them to Caesarea, Haiti, and other points of interest before arriving at the hotel in Sated, a town located in the mountains north of the Sea of Galilee. Tour Israel The tour of Israel continued through Sunday, March 12, taking the group to Capernaum where Jesus played and attended Synagogue as a boy, across the Sea of Galilee by boat, to the Jordan River, Nazareth, Bethlehem and Jerusalem. On Monday morning the group left by air at Tel Aviv for a flight to Rome where they shopped and did some sightseeing for nearly two days. The Rome tour included the Mammertine prison, the catacombs, coliseum, the Vatican and Saint Peters church, and the famous Trevi Fountain. A morning flight on March 15 took the group to Paris for a brief stop-over before boarding a Boeing 747 for the transoceanic flight and they arrived home in the early hours of March 16. , Other members of the congregation making the trip with the Mundys were Mrs. Maurine Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Delos Martin, Mrs. Clifford Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Bud VanPelt and daughter Lynda, and Mrs. Chet Warren. Also on the tour were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Berkey and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Raber of Goshen; Pastor and Mrs. Ray Oviatt and Mrs. Gladys Carr of Argos; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mantle of California and Pastor and Mrs. William Stroup, Pennsylvania. Pastor Mundy took hundreds of slides, many of which will be shown at the Wawasee Heights church. x

Wawasee Prep Students Take European Tour Thirteen students from the language department at the Wawasee preparatory school, Lake Wawasee will leave on a tour of several European countries on March 25. The tour is being conducted by Father Stanley Grabowic, OSC., who is dean of students at the school. The trip will include visits to Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and Holland and many of the famous cities in each of these countries. They will travel by air and train and will return to this country on Saturday, April 15. The tour is being made during the regularly scheduled Easter vacation at the school. Students going on the tour are Lance Hershberger, Tim Jehl, Bob Rooney and Joe Weigand all of Fort Wayne; Frank Hunckler from Huntington, Wroe King of Cedar Lake, Ed Binzel, Jeff Brown, Rick Kincaid, Dominic Militello. and John Sherry all from Ohio; Kevin Jans of Hubbard Woods, Ill.; and Rick Roberts from Mount Pleasant, Mich.
