OBITUARIES
Clayton Woo Ison Prayer services were held at the Milford funeral home at 2 p.m. on Sunday for Clayton Woolson, 66, Milford. Mr. Woolson died Friday at 11:15 p.m. on Friday in the Elkhart hospital where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. The deceased was born July 14, 1905 in New York and moved to Milford two years ago. He and Charlene Traster were married on November 1, 1969. She survives. He was a retired farmer and a member of the United Methodist church in Lewiston, N. Y. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Clayton, Jr., Dale City, Calif., and Richard, Lewiston; a stepson, Howard Fuller, Ohio; five grandchildren; four sisters; and four brgahers Following the prayer service , the body was taken to Ransomville, N. ¥., for funeral services and burial in the Northridge cemetery.

Ross Relles Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of Syracuse received word Saturday of the death of the former’s brother-in-law, Ross Relles of Sacramento, Calif., due to a heart attack. His widow is the former Margaret Smith of Syracuse and sister of Mr. Smith. Merritt E. Lung Merritt E. Lung, r 4 Syracuse, Wawasee Village, died Thursday, Jan. 13 at 3 am. at his home; He has been in failing health for sometime. Mr. Lung was bom in Cromwell on December 15, 1891 the son of Salomon and Emma Galloway Lung. On April 17, 1913, he married Janet Ruch. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Survivors are the widow; three sons, Maurice, Syracuse. Edwin, Williamsport. Pa., and Steven, Huston. Texas; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at a funeral home in

Syracuse. Rev. Walter Burchad officiated. Burial was in Oak Park cemetery, Ligonier. Ora Hewitt Funeral services were held this afemoon (Wednesday) for Ora Hewitt, 77, of r 2 Syracuse. In failing health for the past six years, he passed away at 4:30 Monday afternoon at his home. Death was due to complications. Mr. Hewitt was born at Horton, Mich., on January 21, 1894 to William Edwin and Mary Jane (Norris) Hewitt and resided in the Syracuse area for the past several years. His wife, the former Violett Margaret Gerkins, preceded him in death in 1922. He was a laborer and served with the Hubert Miller Nursery for 13 years. Mr. Hewitt was a member of the Zion church and American Legion. Survivors include one brother, Clarence Hewitt of Wisconsin and a number of nieces and nephews including Ed Hewitt of Syracuse. Rev. Chester Reed officiated and burial was in Syracuse cemetery. American Legion graveside services were held. Mose S. Schrock Funeral services were held at Nappanee this afternoon (Wednesday) for Mose S. Schrock, 65, of r 6 Goshen, stepfather of Mrs. Ben (Viola) Kaiser of r 1 Milford. A retired Northern Indiana Public Service Co. employee, he died Sunday night at Saint Joseph’s hospital. South Bend.

Mr. Schrock had undergone surgery on January 7 and sustained three heart attacks in the hospital prior to his death. The deceased was born on April 23,1906 in Yoder, Kan., and lived most of his life in the Goshen area. He moved to Goshen from Warsaw, where he had also worked for NIPSCo. His wife, the former Martha Schmucker to whom he was married on January 7, 1929 preceded him in death on July 5, 1965 after which he married Kate Stutzman on August 19,1966 and she survives. He was a member of the North Main Street Mention ite church at Nappanee, where services were held. Surviving with the widow and stepdaughter are four daughters. Mrs. Lloyd (Mary Jean) Brandenberger of Middlebury, Mrs. Sam (Patricia) Chupp, Phoenix, Mrs. Devon (Marcia) Yoder of r 6 Goshen, and Mrs. Dave (Janet) Yoder, r 7 Goshen; one other stepdaughter, Mrs. Lowell (Fem) Maust of r 4 Goshen; four stepsons, Ed Stutzman of Kokomo, Gene Stutzman of Kendallville, Ralph Stutzman, Indianapolis, and Robert Stutzman. at home ; 24 grandchildren ; and one brother, Tobe Schrock of LaJunta, Colo. Mr. Stiffler was born at Syracuse on April 16,1902 to John ' and Lydia (Johnson) Stiffler and had resided at Elkhart from 1928 to 1948 prior to moving to the Mentone and Burket area. On November 27,1926 he was united in marriage at Burket to the former Lura Williamson and she prececed him in death in 1967. Surviviors include one son, Dale, Mentone; one sister, Mrs. Leone Blows of Vancouver. 8.C.; three brothers. Hugh of Indianapolis, Harold, Tuscon, Ariz., and Printice of North Hollywood, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Burial was in Palestine cemetery. Mrs. Charles Conrad Mrs. Laura E. Conrad, 80, 356 West Randolph street, Nappanee and sister of Mrs. Amos (Mary) Oro and John Gardner, both of Milford, died at 9:20 Sunday morning at her home. She had been in failing health for several years. Born in Kosciusko county on December 11,1891 she was united in marriage on December 24,1908 to Charles M. Conrad and he preceded her in death in 1963. Mrs. Conrad was a aaember of the United Methodist qarch of Nappanee and a past preoUteQt of the Nappanee chapteTWßf American War Mothers. Thompson, Sr., 91, of South Bend, a former resident of Milford, died Sunday, Jan. 9 at 5:40 p.m. at the Ridgedale Nursing home after a week’s illness. Mr. Thompson was born December 1, 1880 in Remington. He was retired from Bendix Corp, in South Bend where he lived for the last 34 years moving from Remington. Mrs. Bonnie Harwood of Dewart Lake was rushed to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., Monday from her home. She had been ill for four weeks. Her condition is listed as poor. Carl Duncan of Milford was released Tuesday afternoon from the Goshen hospital. He. was taken to the hospital at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, after suffering a heart attack at his home. Mishler Dr. Hargis To Speak At God And Country Rally Dr. Billy James Hargis will be featured speaker at the First Baptist church at the corner ’bf Detroit and Center streets in Warsaw, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4. Hargis will be speaking at the Christian Crusade God and Country Rally with the general theme of “Problems that Confront America Today.” Hargis is the founder and director of the nation’s largest Christ oriented anti-communist organization, Christian Crusade, founded in 1950. It was an outgrowth of a radio ministry and a subsequent “Bible Balloon Project.” International headquarters at Tulsa, Okla., include the campus, administrative offices, classrooms and dormitories for American Christian college; the David Livingstone Missionary Foundation, Inc.; a nondenominational church; and The Summit.
