Income Tax To Be Explained Farmers of Elkhart county and the surrounding area will have an opportunity to learn about recent changes in the Federal Income Tax regulations that effect their farm businesses A meeting has been arranged for Tuesday evening. Dec 14 at the Elkhart county extension office at which time Ned Kalb, area extension agent in charge of farm-management, will discuss income tax management. Tax decisions are important to all with an interest in the operation of any farm. The Nations bumper .corn and soybean crops and higher hog. cattle and soybean prices all need to be evaluated now m order to take advantage of certain provisions of the tax regulations.

DAMAGE TO AUTOS Damage was estimated to the left sides of two cars driven by Gary A. Culver, 29, r 1 Leesburg, and Mary A. Shoemaker, 48, North Webster early last Wednesday morning. Culver was headed west on Armstrong Rd., and the Shoemaker car was headed east, about one-fourth mile west of CR 700E. Deputy sheriff Loren Melton investigated. 14 YEARS AGO, DEC. 12,1957 A fire loss estimated to be well in excess of $12,000 resulted from a fire at the Michael Reuter farm north of Milford Junction. A large two-story chicken house and 5,000 pullet chicks were destroyed. DEATHS: Mrs. Ralph (Audrey) Groves, 62; R. Hayes Downes, 77; and William McDonald, 44. Open house at the newly completed Chore-Time Equipment Co., plant will be Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Carey M. Parrett residence on South Henry street has been sold to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hagans. Ray Evans submitted to major surgery Tuesday at Goshen hospital. Jeanne Moneyheffer celebrated her ninth birthday December 4 at a party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Moneyheffer. Sharon Saylor, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Saylor is recovering from tonsilitis. The Milford firemen’s annual dinner was held last Thursday evening in the recreation room of Herbert Baumgartner’s home. George Hartter, 74, Cissna Park. 111., passed away Monday morning.
