Syracuse Lake Home Is Setting For Moore-Olson Vows
The Syracuse Lake home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul H Moore was the setting for the September lawn wedding of their daughter, Cathy, to John Frederick Olson The bridegroom is the son of Rev. Herman Olson of North Webster and Mrs Winifred Navarro of Bloomington. Rev John Weeks of North Webster officiated for the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Clint Olson of Bloomington and Bruce Enos of Long Island, N.Y. Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an ivory' Yves Saint Laurent embossed cotton gown with empire waist and fitted bodice, and Venice lace encircling the neckline, sleeves and hemline She carried an old fashioned

The bride is a 1968 graduate of Syracuse high school and a junior in the Indiana university school of nursing at Indianapolis. Her husband is a graduate student in anatomy at Indiana university, Bloomington. The couple is residing at 1208 Lincoln street, Bloomington.

Pittmans Observe Silver Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pittman of North Shore Drive, Syracuse observed their silver wedding anniversary on Monday, Oct. 11. They were united in marriage at college in lowa on October 11, 1926 and she is the former Roberta Niccum. Mr. and Mrs. Pittman have four children, Lynn, 24, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Sally, 21, Albion college, Mich.; Diane, 11 and Marjorie, 9. Mrs. Stanley Scott Hostess Os Busy Homemakers Club Mrs. Stanley Scott was hostess to the Busy Homemakers club when it met Wednesday, Oct. 6. Mrs. Vernon May, president, opened the meeting. Mrs. Glen Treesh led in singing “America the Beautiful*’. 11)6 pledge to the flag was led by Mrs. Walter Kasper. Mrs. Ralph Neff read “God, Our Protector, the 91 Psalm,” for meditation. Mrs. May gave the health and safety lesson on vitamins. For a special number, Mrs. Forrest George read two poems, “No Hogs In Heaven,” and “Here Am I.” Mrs. Neff gave the treasurer’s report. An interesting lesson on “Our Flag” showing the right ways and rules of displaying the flag, alone, or with other flags was given by Mrs. Scott. Election of officers for 1972 were held with the following being elected: President — Mrs. May, reelected Vice president — Mrs. William Motts Treasurer — Mrs. Russell Hollar Secretary — Mrs. Irene Hollar The meeting closed with the club prayer song led by Mrs. Treesh and the club collect led byMrs. George. The hostesses, Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Neff served refreshments to 12 members and two guests, Mrs. Carmelene Lossee and Tracy Stump. Mrs. John Davidsen won the door prize. The next meeting will be November 3 at the home of Mrs. Elmer Rassi. Intermediate Mothers Meet At Bushong Home The Intermediate Mothers club at Syracuse met at the home of Mrs. Avon Bushong, Syracuse. Monday, Oct. 4, with 17 members responding to roll call. President Mrs. Charles Miller presided for the business session at which time program chairman Mrs. F. A. Rhoades announced the next meeting would be at Hobby Hill and interested persons should meet at the drug store at 6:30 on October 18 Members were asked to notify the hostess if they have invited guests for the club bazaar at the home of Mrs. Robert Searfoss. Mrs. Tom Perzanowski was guest speaker telling of the work as house parents at the Bashor Home for Boys. Goshen. Mrs. Loren Longenbaugh and Mrs. R A. Rhodes assisted the hostess. Sorosis Club Holds Meeting The Sorosis club met at the home of Mrs. JakeTusing, Jr., on October 4. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Dennis Sharp, president. The pledge to the American and Christian flags were repeated and roll call was answered with “How I Keep In Touch With The World.” The members are happy to announce that Mrs. Jerold Radcliff is a new member. “The Ladies’ of The Round Table” of Syracuse have invited the Sorosis club to be their guest at their November 8 meeting. The program will be “Panel of American Women.” Mrs. T. A. Miller presented the enlighting program "Women’s Role in Social Change.” A lively discussion followed. Blind goods were sold by Mrs C. D. Barnes. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served by the hostess. Mrs. Charles Smoker of Warsaw and Mrs. Hazel Kline of Milford joined with over 40 women from Elkhart county last Wednesday in making a trip to Chicago. Several places of interest were visited by the women.

Oceola Church Is Setting For Kelley-Warner Wedding Vows
The Osceola Church of the Brethren was the scene ot the October 2 marriage of Miss Ruth Ellen Kelley and Richard Allen Warner. Rev. Charles Stouder, Jr., pastor of the church, officiated for the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lois Sinkler of Otsego, Mich. Mrs. Ruth Maxine Warner of Syracuse and the late Guy Warner of Elkhart are the parents of the bridegroom. Given In Marriage The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, appeared in a full lace gown of nylon featuring a full hoop skirt, long lace sleeves and high neckline, trimmed in lace. Matching lace and tiny seed pearls caught the silk illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of roses and carnations on a white Bible. Mrs. Clair McDonald of Millersburg served as matron of honor, and Miss Rosie Hass, Bloomingdale, Mich., bridesmaid. Their gowns were of blue crepe with white trim. They

Mrs. Anglemeyer Is Hostess To Unity Circle The Unity circle of Saint Andrew's United Methodist church. Syracuse, met October 7 at 1 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Hubert Anglemeyer. Sixteen were present including a former member, Mrs. Helen Wilkerson, who now resides in Richmond. 1 Devotions by Mrs. Nelson Miles were taken from I John 1:1-2. After reading from the book of Roy Smith and a clipping from the Ann Lander's newspaper column titled, "Just For Today,” she closed with a prayer from an old song book. Mrs. Maude Jackson, who presented the program, read an article titled “Touch of Love” by Bill Milliken, a social worker in New York city. The chairman, Mrs. Ralph Cingaman, was in charge of the meeting. A delicious salad was served by the hostess. Reception A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the church for 100 guests. Mrs. Warner is a graduate of Bloomingdale, Mich,, high school and her husband, a Syracuse high school graduate, is employed at Kinder Manufacturing of Elkhart. Following a month’s honeymoon in California, the couple will make residence on r 4 Syracuse.

25 - Year Pins Presented At OES Meeting Mrs. Herbert Baumgartner and Mrs. Joe Sunthimer of Milford received 25-year pins in an impressive ceremony conducted by Kosciukso chapter 160 Order of the Eastern Star worthy matron Mrs. Silas Howard, Jr., last Wednesday evening. Mrs. Howard cited Mrs. Baumgartner as’having been a past matron of the order and Mrs. Sunthimer for her years of serving the order as organist and pianist. Mrs. Baumgartner received her pin from Robert Ruch while Mrs. Howard presented Mrs. Sunthimer with her pin. The chapter room was decorated in keeping with the Halloween theme with the dining room following the fall theme. Refreshments of cake and coffee were served by Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Beiswanger, Mrs. Doris Wolferman and -Mrs. Charles Purdum. Senior Mothers Plan Spring Party Event Twelve members of the Syracuse Senior Mother club met at the home of Mrs. Deloss Smith last week at which time plans were discussed for a project night and the annual spring party of Syracuse Mothers clubs with the Senior Mothers club in charge this year. The next meeting will be October 18 at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Elson. MYNHIERS ENTERTAIN Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mynhier, Mark and Carol, of Waubee Lake over the week end were. Mrs. Mynhier’s sister, niece, and mother, Mrs. Yvonne Campbell, Jan, and Mrs. Monnie Hunt, respectively, all of West Carrollton, Ohio. Sunday afternoon, they all went to another of Mrs. Mynhier’s sisters, Mrs. Dave Kaiser and family, including three-week old Todd at Round Lake near Columbia City. Also visiting, were another sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Brown of Ligonier and Anne Davenport of North Webster. Mrs. Hunt will spend a few days with the Kaisers. On Monday, Mrs. Campbell and Jan left to go back home to Ohio.

Mr. And Mrs. Adrian Hawn Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Hawn, Milford, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 17, with an open house given by their children. The couple was married on October 15, 1921, at North Webster.
Past Matrons Meet In Rapp Home 17)6 Past Matrons club of Syracuse, chapter 283 of Order of Eastern Star, was entertained last week in the home of Mrs. Joe Rapp. Mrs. Robert Murray was in charge of the business meeting at which time plans were presented for new rules and regulations and will be voted on at the next meeting. Dessert and coffee were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. A. L. Miller, to the 14 members present. The next meeting will be November 2 with Mrs. Everett Dunn in North Webster. John C. Adams Corps Meets John C. Adams 278 of the Women’s Relief Corps at Syracuse met last week for its October meeting with Mrs. Georgia Buster, president, presiding. Plans were made to attend the seventh district convention at Nappanee and various reports were heard. Refreshments of cider and doughnuts were served during the social hour.
They have four sons, Paul, James, Richard and Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Wauneta Gorsuck and Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Mauk; 16 grandchildren; and three great- J grandchildren. J Friends are invited to drop in I and say hello. J
