been promoted to sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Sergeant Stollery is a mail processing specialist at Keesler AFB, Miss., with the USAF Postal and Courier Service.
The sergeant is a 1969 graduate of Wawasee high school. Her husband, Staff Sergeant Donald D. Stollery, is the son of Mrs. Audry J. Stollery of 100 Cragg Road, Rochester, N.Y.

By Rose Cunningham Mrs. Stultz Honored At Farewell A farewell party for Mrs. Q. F. Stultz was given at the home of Mrs. O. R? Bangs Saturday morning when a number of friends gathered to wish her well in her new home at Lansing, Mich. Dr. and Mrs. Stultz have sold their home in Ligonier to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Conner and will be leaving for Lansing next week. Nursery School Opens Sept. 21 The second year for the Ligonier Nursery School will begin Tuesday, Sept. 21. An orientation meeting with mothers, teachers and children is scheduled for September 14 at the Ligonier United Methodist church, Fourth and Martin streets. Also parents and teachers will have an opportunity to express their ideas concerning plans and policies of the school. RETURN FROM CALIFORNIA Rev. and Mrs. Abe Peters have returned from Fresno, Calif., where they spent 10 days tending the General Conference. A. G. WARBLE HONORED A. G. Warble was guest of honor at a family dinner August 22 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tuvell. Five generations were present for the occasion including Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Turner. Strawberry Valley Days Set For September 4-5-6
The 17th annual Jaycees Strawberry Valley Days celebration will begin in Ligonier at 12 noon Saturday. Sept. 4. At 1 p.m. there will be a model airplanecontest on the bank parking lot followed by “Youngsters Os Action” on the library lawn at 3 p.m. with a square dance beginning at 8 p.m. The carnival will be running all three days along with other midway attractions. Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday with a horse show scheduled for 2 p.m. at the city park on the west edge of Ligonier. The street dance hosted by Stu Collins of Fort Wayne will begin at 7 p.m. The giant fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. at city park. Rev. Jack Jessop of the Ligonier Church of Christ will open Monday morning activities with the invocation at promptly 6:45 and the free pancake and sausage breakfast by Lions club

Attend Workshop At Vincennes John Kiester. Sue Alber, Ronelle Miller and Lisa Janes, students at West Noble high school, attended the fourth annual high school journalism workshop at Vincennes university, Vincennes from August 15 through August 20. John and Ronelle are seniors and Sue and Lisa are juniors. They participated in workshop activities including publication of a 16-page newspaper. The Workshop Gazette, and also attended classes in news and feature writing, editing, photography, press law, and newspaper makeup. Three Attend State Fair School Three 4-H girls from Noble county were among the 300 Indiana girls attending state fail school in Indianapolis August 18 through August 28. RETURN FROM VACATION TRIP * Mr. and Mrs. Everett Darr and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Darr and family, all of Syracuse, returned last week from a two-week vacation trip including points of interest in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Mexico, New Mexico and Kansas. A visit was made in the home of the Merton Bushongs at McKinney, Texas, and with Mr. and Mrs. Emory Guy and Mrs. Arnold LeCount, formerly of Syracuse, now of Mission, Texas.
