and related market development activities. Under the agreement, deductions will be made from payments beginning next April on marketings by producers during 1971 at the rates of 14 cents per pound of shorn wool and 74 cents per hundredweight of unshorn lambs. Deductions from payments on marketings during 1972 and 1973 will be at such rates as the Secretary of Agriculture and the council may agree upon. However, deductions may not exceed the rates of 14 cents for wool and 74 cents for unshorn lambs which have been in effect few the past five years. In the 1971 mail referendum on individual voting, 86.9 per cent voted for the agreement on a national basis. ‘ Locally, in Kosciusko county, 87.2 per cent of our producers voted in favor of deductions for promotion of the products. To become effective, the agreement has to be approved either by two-thirds of the producers voting or by two-thirds of the volume of production represented. The council proposes a budget of $3 million for the year beginning July 1, 1971. The Kosciusko County ASCS Office disbursed $19,848 in April of this year to 229 payees under the 1970 wool payment program. /E MENUS J WEDNESDAY - Chilled orange juice, chili mac, lettuce salad or carrot and celery sticks, apple crisp, bread and butter and milk. * THURSDAY - Cold meat sandwich, fried potatoes, melon, cheese cake and milk.
