Closing Out Season At Enchanted Hills
By BILL SPURGEON They're closing out the season at the Wawasee Arts Foundation's Enchanted Hills Playhouse on a happy note this year, and it’s truly a production that appeals to all ages. “You're a Good Man. Charlie Brown.” is the stage adaptation of the famous characters from Charles Schulzs “Peanuts” comic strip. The folks at Enchanted Hills chose to play the kids as kids, not as adults as has been done elsewhere, and in the setting of a comic strip with minimal staging. It’s an effective production, well directed, well-cast, and certainly well-choreographed Dale Mclntosh is Charlie Brown, everybody's born loser — the fellow with “the failure face,” as his contemporaries put it, and he does a creditable job as the adult kid who can’t seem to do much of anything right and wants so much to be liked. Julie Buchheit is a real showstealer as Lucy, grammar school cynic, would-be psychiatrist, and perennially crabby know it all — and she does it so well that you’re bound to think that she reminds you of someone you've always

known. Plaudits for the best performance of the production belong to Larry Life, a member of the WAF professional company who also directed and choreographed “Charlie Brown.” Life as “Snoopy," the dog with delusions of grandeur and an obsession with supper, is just about one of the funniest things we have ever seen, and his “Suppertime” dance and song routine was surely the highlight of an enjoyable evening. Also in on the fun are Jerry Patterson as Linus, Lucy’s little brother who can’t kick the blanket habit; Danielle Morsheimer as Patty, another little girl in Charlie's life, and Richard Knecht as Schroeder, the Beethoven-loving young pianist who just would rather play the piano (which he carries around under his arm) than anything else It’s a fun show, and one for all the family — our party at opening night included 10 kids from 3 to 12, and they all stayed awake and un-squirmy. The music is pretty and well done, and the costuming accurate. The show runs through Sunday, Aug. 29. nightly at 8:30. except on Saturdays when performances are 6 and 10 p.m.

of birth date and spelling of the child's name for school records Parents who attended kindergarten roundup last spring already completed the enrollment forms, however, there are some who have not returned the medical examination form, and some who must bring in the legal birth certificate for verification.
