Thursday Ladies Bowling League Meets August 19 The Thursday Night Ladies bowling league met Thursday night, Aug. 19, at the bowling alley, south of Syracuse, for its organizational meeting. Due to vacancies, President Fredetta Money appointed the following officers: Vice president — Helen Frushour Secretary — Beverly Hamman Sgt.-at-Ar ms — Imogene Menzie Mary’ Lou Lambert who was elected at the spring meeting is the league treasurer. Helen Frushour is the junior bowler representative. League bowling will start August 26 at 6:30 p.m. There-will be w> league bowling on November 25. December 23 and December 30. The Thursday league is in charge of the annual banquet of the Lakeland Women’s Bowling Association. Mary Popenfoose is chairman of the decorat ion and prize committee and the Kale Island Beacon team will select the banquet site. Hits And Misses Hold Pre-Bowl Meeting Wednesday The Hits and Misses Wednesday night mixed bowling league met last Wednesday evening at Wawasee Bowl for it’s annual organizational meeting with president Leonard Livengood presiding. League rules were discussed and voted upon, and it was decided to bowl 33-weeks starting on September 8 through April 26. League representatives for Junior Bowlers will be CarrofP Walton and Mrs. Robert Brown. Tuesday P.M. Bowling To Start Sept. 7 An executive meeting of the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies league was held yesterday. Demo Women Hold Meeting Members of the Kosciusko County Democratic Women’s organization met at the home of Mrs. Wayne Bucher near Dewart Lake Tuesday evening, Aug. 17. WHS Students Can Purchase Game Tickets Wawasee high school students can purchase game tickets at a reduced price the day of a varsity game for away games. Tickets will be sold in the commons .by Mrs. Kuilema. They can be purchased any study hall period the day of a varsity game. Junior high and elementarystudents can also purchase tickets at a reduced price from the respective school offices the day of a varsity game for away games. The school principals will designate the time for students to purchase their tickets. Tickets for home games may be purchased at the door for 75 cents. Fan Buses Fan buses have been scheduled for all varsity football and basketball games. Schedules will be posted Bus tickets can be purchased by junior high students at their own school. High school students can purchase bus tickets from Mrs. Kuilema in the commons. Tickets can be purchased in any of the study hall periods on the day of an away game for 50 cents. First Aid Make Runs The Syracuse First Aid made a run at 1:57 p.m. Monday for Syracuse resident Mrs. Helen Overstreet who was found by friends beside the bed at her home. She was taken to Goshen hospital where she remains a patient due to suffering a stroke.
