Injured When Camper Hits Concrete Building
South Bend resident Lorraine C. Steinke, 51, was admitted to Goshen hospital early Friday morning for , injuries sustained when his three-quarter ton camper truck missed the curve south of Syracuse near South Shore Golf club and slammed into a cement block building. The mishap apparently occurred around 12:30 a.m. according to neighbors who reported being awakened by a loud noise, however, silence followed the mishap and the disturbance was not investigated. Around 4 a m. Mrs. William T. Jones. Jr., who resides a short distance east of the scene, heard calls for help Steinke told authorities he had been trapped in the truck, which went through an outer cement block wall and continued through the inner wall of the structure, and had finally managed to get out of the vehicle and the building Steinke sustained severe head lacerations and said he had blacked out going around the corner prior to the crash His truckwas damaged to the tune of several thousand dollars with damage estimated at $3,500 to the building owned by Harold Stbffel
