In cooperation with the Indiana state police, a Gary outdoor advertising firm has donated space on several of its signs to help troopers reduce the state’s traffic accident rate/State police superintendent Robert K. Konkle urged other Hoosier business firms to support state and local police in an effort to turn back the rising traffic toll. “Everyone has a stake in this problem.” Konkle said, and everyone should help find ways to solve it.”

August 1 is the last day of the club, awards being presented on Tuesday, August 3. Punch and cookies will be served between one and three p.m. Be sure and come for your cards and awards you have worked so hard for this summer. Attending Workshop At Ball State MUNCIE — Robert Nibarger of Syracuse is attending a Forensics Workshop at Ball State university being held July 19-August 20. Larry Highbaugh, instructor of speech, is workshop director. The workshop was designed for research and practice with secondary school students in the area of debate, extemporaneous speaking, discussion, and individual events. Nibarger resides at 729 Front street and teaches speech at Wawasee high school. Completes Basic At Lack land SAN ANTONIO - Airman Russell D. Pass, son of Mrs. Margery L. Pass, r 1 Warsaw, has completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas, and has been assigned to Sheppard AFB, Texas, for training in aircraft maintenance. Airman Pass attended Warsaw Community high school. His father, Harvey V. Pass, resides at 208 S. Lake street, Warsaw.

Assigned To Chanute Field . SAN ANTONIO — Airman Jonathan D. Frantz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton L. Frantz of r 7 Warsaw, has completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex. He has been assigned to Chanute AFB, 111., for training in the aircraft equipment maintenance Add. Airman Frantz is a 1970 graduate of Warsaw high school. Senior Citizens Have Carry-In - The Turkey Creek Senior Citizens held a carry-in supper at the Syracuse fire station meeting room Thursday night with 16 members in attendance. Mrs. Georgia Buster presided for a brief business session in the absence of president Mrs. Chester Stiffler. Discussion was held on summer activities of the group.
