Orientation Class Set In Warsaw For Red Cross Volunteers An orientation class for new Red Cross volunteers will be held Tuesday. May 11. 1971, it was announced today by Mrs. Lee Pattison chairman of the Volunteers of the Kosciusko County chapter of the American National Red Cross, a United Fund Partner. Mrs. John Moriarity, of Fort Wayne. Division chairman of Red Cross volunteers, will conduct the class to be held from 10 a m. to three p.m. at the chapter house. 501 North Lake street. Warsaw. Mrs. Moriarity will be assisted by experienced volunteers of the Kosciusko County ARC chapter. Those wishing to attend will bring a sack lunch. Coffee will be furnished. Anyone interested in taking the training to become a Red Cross Volunteer may call the center and register for the class. Service groups consist of hospital volunteers, nursing home volunteers, food service, transportation service, office volunteers, also other services including the Blood Program and Service to Military Families. Further training in their preferred service groups will be given New volunteers will work on a Buddy’ system with an experienced volunteer while completing their training. Tours of the local hospital and nursing homes will be arranged for those wishing to serve in these areas Mrs. Pattison stated. Volunteers who wish to take a refresher course’ are welcome to attend LAKELAND LOCAL Miss Becky McCall of Goshen spent a recent week end with Miss Bonnie Jean Scattergood and Mr. and Mrs. George Harwood of Dewart Lake.
INVENTORY CONTINUES AT COURT HOUSE More than 1.200 books have been listed on an inventory. Ralph Brubaker president of Kosciusko County Historical Society reported today. Brubaker, of Leesburg, stated that the Historical Society’s inventory of old records on the fourth floor of the courthouse in Warsaw was proceeding as planned. Ronald Sharp, project chairman, stated that the group planned to work again this Saturday. He asked that all persons wishing to help are to come to the fourth floor of the courthouse Saturday at 8:30 a.m. He advised that everyone wear old clothing. Work sessions last only three hours, he added.
The Kosciusko County Historical Society is inventorying the records so that a list can be presented to the Kosciusko County Records Commission.

POMONA GRANGE ENJOYS POT LUCK The St-Mar-Kos Pomona Grange met at Bremen Thursday evening. April 15 for a potluck supper and regular session. Arthur Heckaman, Master, presided over the meeting, with 13 officers responding to roll call, followed by all giving the Pledge to the flag. Due to the judging of the dresses for the May 20 deadline, it was decided to change the date for the next meeting to May 13. It will be held in Milford at the Waubee Grange Hall. The Women’s Activities committee will be in charge of the judging. Reports were given by Otho Bon Durant, legislative chairman; Herman Miller, agriculture chairman; and representatives from subordinate granges of Bremen. New Tamarack. Menominee and Waubee. A potluck dinner was enjoyed at the grange hall at the noon hour, after which Mrs. Trader held a meeting with the four lecturers of the subordinate granges in Pomona and Mrs. Herman Miller met with the chairman of the Women's Activities committees and planned the programs for the year. Walls Serving In Turkey SAHIN TEPESI, Turkey - Airman first class Timothy R. Walls, son of Mrs. Ruby Rowe, Alger. Ohio, has arrived for duty at Sahin Tepesi, Turkey. Airman Walls, an administrative specialist with an air force support unit, previously served at Grissom AFB. The airman is a 1969 graduate of Wawasee high school, Syracuse. His father, Eastel E. Walls, lives on r 1 North Webster.
