Warriors Tie For sth Place In Goshen Relays Saturday

By JOHN BAHN The Wawasee Warriors track team participated in the Goshen Relays last Saturday. They were entered in the class B event which was won by Mishawaka with Gary Roosevelt winning the class A division. Wawasee tied for fifth place with Garrett. Each scored 32 points. Mishawaka Marion totaled 59 points for the win. followed by Concord with 50, Fort Wayne Central with 42, Bremen with 36 and Wawasee and Garrett. Others placing in the class B events were New Prairie. Jimtown. Plymouth. West Noble, Northridge, Howe Military, North Wood and Fairfield. North Liberty and Prairie Heights competed but failed to score. Clint Olson won first place honors in the pole vault event with a height of 12 feet. 4 inches This is a Wawasee high school record. ESCAPES INJURY IN ONECAR CRASH Rolland E. Hurlbert, 1404 S. 13th St, Goshen, escaped injury in a one-car accident in the 400 block of South Huntington street, Syracuse, at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday. South bound on the state road, his 1968 Plymouth veered to the right and hit a NIPSCo utility pole with damages of S2OO to the pole. Damages to the auto were SI,OOO. He was ticketed for public intoxication by the Syracuse police. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller and Donna were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Cory and Dave. The occasion was Mr. Miller’s birthday. They are all Milford area residents.

SNOWMOBILE ASSOCIATION HAS AWARDS BANQUET — The Indiana Snowmobile Association held their banquet Saturday evening at a North Webster restaurant. Snowmobile Association Holds First Annual Awards Banquet

The Indiana Snowmobile Association held its first annual awards banquet Saturday. April 17, at a North Webster restaurant with 92 persons attending the affair to see 16 state champion trophies awarded. Trophies are awarded to the person who accumulated the most points through the winter season which ran from September 1, 1970 to April 1, 1971.
