At the same time Triton's 24 Richard Rhodes decided to get into the action and went after the ball. Either Blue has it in the palm ofhis hand or Rhodes is trying something new and has it in his hand. Maybe they’re sharing it but we doubt it since that's not the object of the game. Dave Elliott is the other Warrior in the photo and Max Trowbridge is Triton's number 30.
WHS Warriors Fall To Triton Thursday
By JOHN BAHN The Wawasee Warriors were defeated last Thursday by the Triton Trojans in their first game by a score of 71-61 at the Triton sponsored sectional meet Coach Vernon Zurcher s out: standing scorer, John Hamilton, totaled 20 points for the Warriors He was followed by Tim Blue with 10 points and Mark Thomas with 9 points Although Wawasee held top scoring honors Sharpe, who scored 18 points during the game. LAKELAND IS NUMBER ONE — The Lakeland seventh grade wrestling team won first place honors in the four-way tournament held last Saturday in Warsaw.
Seventh Grade Wrestlers Win Tourney
By JOHN BAHN The Lakeland junior high school seventh and eighth grade wrestling teams went to the area four-way tourney on Saturday and came home with the seventh grade championship The Lakeland schools had held matches earlier at Wawasee high school to break down the three area schools into the 12 main weight catagories with alternates for Saturday’s tourney. The eighth grade team took one first by Schropf with five second place honors going to Kitson, Fisher. V. Caravajal. Coburn and Dye. The seventh grade team took first place in the meet with five first place honors being earned by Doll, Korenstra, Rinker, Whiteman and Wright. Final team standings in the eighth grade were: Warsaw 119, Manchester 74, Wawasee 71 and North Wood 67. Final team standings in the seventh grade meet were: Wawasee 104, Manchester 91, Warsaw 66 and North Wood 49. Lakeland wrestlers from Milford, Syracuse and North Webster were coached by members of the Wawasee high school varsity wrestling team under the guidance of coach Terry Frank.

Mrs. Oliver Hibschman gave devotions reading from the Bible, Hosea 8:1-7 and also two poems “If Suddenly We Knew” and “A Better You.” The song of the month, “The Happy Wanderer’’’ was sung accompanied by Mrs. Merle Darr at the piano. Response to roll call was “A New Piece of Furniture I Would Like to Have.” Mrs. Forrest Fackler and three youths were guests. “Protecting Our Environment and Pollution” was the lesson program for the afternoon, ably given by Mrs. Shuder. The Christmas workshop and fashion show review were discussed. A safety report on diabetes was given by Mrs. Hibschman.
