Louisiana and Texas and spent two days with Mr. and Mrs. Ned Ratcliff and family at Summit. Miss. Mrs. Ratcliff is the former Neva Stackhouse, daughter of Mrs. Amanda Stackhouse of Leesburg Mr. and Mrs. Don McManamon and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. John Plank and family and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morehouse and family were Saturday evening supper guests of Miss Donna Moser of Goshen. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Morehouse and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ferverda called on Mr. and Mrs. Blake Baumgartner, Jonathon and new baby, Lisa Anne, of Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Max Shively and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morehouse are spending Monday and Tuesday at Indianapolis on REMC business. Mrs. Ruth DeFries was admitted to the Goshen hospital Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller, Milford, visited Thursday afternoon with their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Wolf of Atwood.
Chris Caywood First In Poise And Appearance
Wawasee high school's Chris Caywood, daughter of Mr. .and Mrs. Roy Caywood. Jr., r 3 Syracuse, was named winner of the poise and appearance contest during the preliminary judging st the Indiana Junior Miss Pageant last week at Frankfort. She represented the Wawasee Jaycees at the pageant. Jennifer Lou Schutz of North Manchester won the Indiana Junior Miss title over 35 other contestants in the finals. Chris, one of the 10-finalists on Saturday night, was honored at a surprise party at the North Webster Church of God upon her return home on Sunday.

Can't Return; To Her Classes Until February Joni Hawk, the irrespressible Wawasee high school cheerleader who suffered a fractured right arm in an auto accident on Saturday, Jan. 9. will not be able to return to her classes until February, it was learned this week. She has been ordered to remain at home by her doctors and to remain quiet, she said. She was northbound, en route to a Wawasee-Bremen basketball game, on road 13-A when bright lights from a southbound car at the B & 0 crossing caused her to lose control of the car on a slippery patch of road. Her car struck a utility pole. Besides a broken arm, Joni suffered a laceration about the face.

LAKELAND LOCALS Harley Conrad, street, water and sewer commissioner at Syracuse, is recuperating at his home near Knapp lake following his release from the hospital. - » Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rummel called Mrs. Rummel’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Treesh of Milford, from London over <the week end where Mr. Rummel is stationed. They told the Treeshs that they have found a place to live. Rick Rapp Speaks Before Milford Lions Wawasee high school senior Rick Rapp of Milford spoke before the Milford Lions club Monday night on his summer trip to Washington, D. C.„ as a 4-H delegate to a national convention.
Rick said he was one of 36 Hoosier 4-H members who made the trip from June 14 to 20 last summer. The trip was sponsored by a consumer-owned utilty company from over the state. He had some /excellent color photos he took of his trip. Rick said he had completed 60 4-H projects in 16 areas, and that his record was sent to Purdue for a review before he was picked. In all, about 1,000 4-H boys attended the convention. Rick was introduced by Lion Bob Buhrt.
