OBITUARIES
Vem Dausman Vera Dausman, 67, formerly of the Oswego area until moving to Leesburg, Fla., three months ago, died at 4:20 Saturday afternoon in the Leesburg general hospital in Florida. Death was due to complications. He was born to Samuel and Clara (Thwaits) Dausman on December 1, 1903 at Hastings. A retired crain operator, he was united in marriage July 22. 1923 to Martha Hapner who survives. Mr. Dausman was a memoer ot the Calvary Baptist church at Oswego. In addition to the wife, he is survived by three sons. Gerald of Leesburg, Willard of Pierceton and Everett of Warsaw; one daughter. Miss Lois Dausman of Pierceton; nine grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Tom and Mrs. Gladys Popenfoose, both of Legpburg and Mrs Don (Joy) Fox of Milford. One son preceded him in death. Burial was today (Wednesday) in Oswego cenwtery. Marvin E. Kuhn Services were held Tuesday afternoon at North Webster for Marvin E. Kuhn. 48. of r 1 Leesburg. A lifetime resident of the area, he passed away Saturday at b pm in the Alfran nursing home at Warsaw. Death was due to complications following a four year illness. Mr. Kuhn was born near North Webster on July 5, 1922 the son of Alfred and Ethel (Black) Kuhn. The mother passed away in 1967 and the father survives. He was a machines! at The Weatherhead Company. Chester Reed officiated and burial was in North Webster cemetery, "Mock addition. j Mrs. Walter Hoshaw Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the c 'olomon’s Creek United Methodist church for Mrs. Gladys Ethel Hoshaw. 74. of r 1 New Paris and a sister of Herbert Blue of Syracuse. Mrs. Hoshaw died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at Goshen hospital where she had been admitted Thursday evening with a heart ailment. She had been ill two-days. A lifetime resident of the New Paris area, she was born in Elkhart county on February 5, 1896 to Willis and Amanda (Juday) Blue. She was a member of Solomon's Creek United Methodist church and the Ladies Aid of the church. On September 22. 1922 she was united in marriage to Walter Hoshaw. and he survives. Survivors in addition to the husband and Syracuse brother are a son, Lloyd of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters. Mrs. Gerald (Mildred) Geiger of New Paris and Mrs Roy (Dorothy) Carpenter, Millersburg; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Wantz of Goshen and 10 grandchildren Burial was in Solomon’s Creek cemetery. D. Thoma* Swartz Death claimed D. Thomas Swartz, 51, 7074 Dowling, Kendallville, at 7:57 am. December 5 Mr Swartz was the father of Thomas W Swartz of Syracuse Death occurred at the McCray hospital in Kendallville. Mr. Swartz was born in Trenton, Mich., on January 17, 1919 to Artur Ray and Beulah (McNary) Swartz. He and June Mullens were married October 1,1938. He was a Ligonier police officer from 1957 to 1961, moving next to Michigan and returning to the area in May of this year He was parts and service manager at Evers Auto Sales in Kendallville at the time of his death. The deceased was a member of the John's Lutheran church. Surviving with the wife and
Syracuse son are his mother; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Streich of Kendallville and Mrs. Walter Weiss of Mishawaka; three grandchildren. A brother, James, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday with burial in the Lakeview cemetery at Kendallville. Earl Hostetler Earl Hostetler, 78, Middlebury, brother of Mrs. Rosella Speicher of Ligonier, died unexpectedly Sunday at Goshen hospital where he was a patient one day, A retired carpenter, Mr. Hostetler was born at Shipshewana on July 14, 1892 but resided in the Middlebury community most of his life. He was a member of the Bonneyville Mennonite Church. In addition to the sister, he is survived by the widow, the former Grace Nusbaum; three sons, Jerold of Elkhart, Delvin of LaPorte and Donald. Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Leasure of Santa Ana. Calif.; nine grandchildren, three brothers and two other sisters. Services were held this morning (Wednesday) at Middlebury and burial was in Forest Grove cemetery. Mr*. William Graber Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) for Mrs. Virginia Graber, 48, of Etna Green, mother of Mrs Homer (Vivian) Graber of North Webster and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Graff of Syracuse. She passed away at 8 30am Sunday in the Murphy Medical Center. Interment was in North Webster cemetery’. Mrs. Grabpr had been in failing health for six years and hospitalized one month. A North Webster resident for 26 years prior to moving to Etna Green eight years ago. Mrs. Graber was born in South Bend on August 22,1922 to Charles and Beulah (Strole) Gasaway. She married William Graber on January 14.1963 and he survives. Mrs. Graber was a member of the North Webster United Methodist church, American Legion Auxiliary. Herbert C. Kuhn Unit 253 and had been a saleswoman for the past four years. Survivors in addition to the husband and two daughters include another daughter. Mrs. David (Phyllis) Sills. Hartford City; one son, Kenneth Baugher of Warsaw; five grandchildren, her mother. Mrs. Beulah Maison of South Bend; eight stepsons; two stepdaughters; 21 stepgrandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.

Mr*. Ollie Wade Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the Ligonier funeral home, for Mrs. Ollie Wade, 90,7X3 Water St. Ligonier. Mrs. Wade died Sunday morning at Elkhart General hospital. She had been a patient there for one week after suffering a stroke. A lifetime resident of Ligonier and one of it’s oldest citizens, Mrs. Wade had been residing with a son in Elkhart since her illness. Her husband, Norman Wade, died in 1948. She was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Ralph, Elkhart, and Erwin, r 4 Syracuse; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Fancil, Goshen; seven gradchildren, and ten greatgrandchildren. Rev. Walter House was in charge of the services and burial was in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier. Report Theft At Syracuse Hardware Authorities are investigating the theft of several items at the Syracuse Hardware amounting to SSO 45. The tape recorder is valued at $21.95 and a Sunbeam shavemaster shaver at $28.50. The loss was discovered last week. II BIRTHS KOSER. Vincent Robert A son was born to Mr and Mrs. Charles Koser, Jr., of Milford Tuesday morning at Goshen hospital. The baby, named Vincent Robert, weighed nine pounds, 134 ounces and was 21 inches long. The baby is the Koser s first child. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gengler of Delphos. Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. John Hughes of St. Petersburg, Fla., are the paternal grandparents. Court News Booked Johnny R. Tackett, 18, Milford, was booked at the Kosciusko county jail on assault and battery charges Friday Claude Hartley, 48, Syracuse, was booked at the county jail during the week end on a public intoxication charge. Divorce Suit Floyd L. Williams of r 1 North Webster has filed suit for divorce in Kosciusko court from Rebecca Williams. The couple married on October 2, 1967 and separated May 30 last. Kenneth L. Mathews, Milford, has filed suit for divorce form Diana L. Mathews. The couple was married September 25, 1965 and separated on November 23, 1970. There are two minor children. Marriage Licenses The following couples have applied at the office of the county • cleric for a license to wed: Gary Allen Stuckman, r 2 Syracuse, contractor, and Marcia Lynne Rink, r 2 Syrcuse, inemployed. Violation Orville E. Evans, Jr., 24, Syracuse, paid a total of $27.25 in Goshen city court Monday night for disregarding a traffic signal light at Madison and Main streets in Goshen. Speeding Paul D. Elliott. 17. Syracuse, paid a total of $27.25 for speeding 60 miles an hour in a 45 speed zone on south Main street, Goshen, when appearing in Goshen city court Monday night. Fined Harold Greider, 17, r 1 North Webster, was fined a total of $23.25 for false registration and an additional $23.25 for no operator’s license when appearing last week in jp court at Warsaw. Complaint A complaint for services rendered suit has been filed in Kosciusko circuit court by Vincent Kelley of Anderson against Gene Thompson of r 3 Syracuse. Plaintiff seeks judgment in the amount of $574.55 for services allegedly rendered the defendant in a Madison county superior court case. Death Suit A wrongful death damage suit amounting to $15,000 has been filed in Kosciusko superior court in connection with a car-truck crash on November 27, 1968 near Etna Green on U.S. 30 which took the lives of two Illinois men. Plaintiffs in the suit are John P. Geverin, Warsaw and Raymond Kirkhove of Kewanee, 111., father of one of the victims, as coadministrators of the David R. Kirkhove estate. Defendants in the suit are the estate of Larry J. Shirer. Chicago. The Zook Gravel Co., Goshen and driver of the Zook truck, James I. Stidams of r 1 North Webster. Kirkhove was a passenger in the car operated by Larry Shirer which collided nearly head-on near Etna Green with the Zook

Mrs. Hazel Dempsey of Syracuse was admitted to Goshen General hospital November 13 and dismissed December 7. Mrs. Dempsey is recovering from a heart attack. Mrs. Donald J. Three Persons Receive Injuries In Tuesday Hight Accident
One person was admitted to Goshen hospital and two others treated and released in a twovehicle accident about one-half mile south of Syracuse at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday night at the intersection of CR 1200 north and SR 13 near Wawasee Bowl. An eastbound 1969 Chevrolet pick-up, being driven by Daniel J. Musser, 53, of Milford, failed to stop at the intersection to the state road and was rammed broadside by a 1970 Chevrolet two-door which was northbound at the time. Driver of the 1970 Chevrolet, William Sloan, 55, of r 1 Syracuse was treated at the hospital for possible chest and hip injuries.

Mrs. Charles Ryman ot Syracuse was released Saturday from Goshen hospital where she had been a patient since October 14 for injuries sustained in a fall at the home of a relative near Goshen. Mrs. Dennis Ross and daughter of North Webster nave been released from Whitley County hospital. Elina L. Greider, North Webster. is a patient at Goshen hospital. Carolyn L. Evans of Syracuse
and released. His wife, Evelyn Sloan, 50. sustained head injuries and was admitted to the hospital. Musser received hospital treatment for lacerations of the scalp and was released. Investigation officers cited Musser for driving while under the influence of intoxicating beverages. Damage to the Sloan car was given at $1,500 with SSOO listed to the Chevrolet pick-up truck. Investigating officers were Indiana state trooper Larry Clodfelter, Syracuse officer Dale Sparklin and deputy sheriff Ron Robinson. Syracuse first aid men and one fire truck were also dispatched to the scene.

Christmas Program At Cardinal Center Sunday Afternoon The Cardinal Center's annual Christmas program will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. in the Lincoln school auditorium located on the corner of Lincoln and Main near Kroger’s in Warsaw. “Santa’s Toy Shop”, written by the Cardinal Center staff, will be presented by the combined talents of the learning center and industrial workshop. The hand-bell choir will present a program of Christmas carols. The public is invited to attend. Cardinal Center is a United Fund member unit. LAKELAND LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Higgins, Goshen and Syracuse, left last week end for Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., for the winter. Angela Pavy of Merriville has returned to her home following a 10-day stay with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Butt of Syracuse.
