• 1 The Church... J? AJ. THE HOPE OF OUR CLOGCX? COMMUNITY, OUR NATION I Everyone loves a bargain—whether it's Mother in the local supermarket, or Dad laying in a supply ■■■ ff, O fg un shells for the hunting season or Junior buying his candy bars at three for a dyne. And what fun it is to. tell our friends of the lucky purchase—even if, in the final accounting, the results are somewhat dubious! But think of the many bargains about which we have no doubt — really big. genuine bargains . . . like the beautiful color of leaves on an autumn day or the aroma of roast turkey that s in the kitchen stove at this very minute And. since it's Thanksgiving it is only appropriate that we should mention the tremendous bargain of our heritage and freedom. o When you come to think of it, we ore always t getting more than we are giving We ore on the receiving end The biggest poj/F of our life — the overwhelming part of our life — is what is given let us then become conscious of our moment-by-moment dependence on God. the awareness of life as a gift For what is religion but receiving, seeing, believing, praising and thanking God" 3 X \ " In. Denounced” is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon. The Golden Text is from Isaiah-? “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea. I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” From Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, this passage will be reaa: “At all times and under all circumstances, overcome evil with good. Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil. Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you.” Fellowship Class Enjoys Thanksgiving Party-Meeting The Fellowship class of the Syracuse Church of God met November 17 at the home of Mrs. Vivian Priddy for a Thanksgiving party.
