facts about ‘OUR TOWN’ Milford, Ind.
By JERI SEELY Well, it finally happened! We ran out of old pictures of Our Town to run with this column. Guess we'll have to go back to writing longer columns and leaving the history in the past Wawasee high school football fans were delighted Friday night at the WHS — North Manchester game when little Sue Ellen Free took to the field to add her talent to the half-time show. Sue Ellen s mother, Mrs. Willard (JoEllen) Free is instructor for the school s pompon girls and the little Miss has been working with the girls. Friday she joined them in what seemed to most onlookers as an almost flawless routine. Sue Ellen is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Free and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McClintic, all of Our Town. Halloween activities begin Friday night in Our Town with trick or treating being allowed both Friday and Saturday. Remember the curfew is 10 p.m. on both nights. Saturday is the night for the annual Lions. . Legion and Auxiliary sponsored Halloween festival. It will be held in the junior high school gym beginning at 6 p.m. The event is for the youngsters of the Milford community with prizes being given to the best dressed If the leaves keep falling like they have been this week all of the trees will be bare by the week end. Some of the colors are just beautiful this year. ' We can't help pausing to look at the beautiful tree just west of the railroad tracks on Catherine street. It has been so brilliant this week. It's so red it almost looks like it is on fire as the leaves dance back and forth in the breeze. Congratulations go to the Columbia Reading Circle. They celebrated their 75th anniversary on Monday evening when they met in the home of Mrs. Herbert (Edith* Baumgartner A history oLthe club was given and refreshments centered around an anniversary cake. Among the credits that go to the club is the cleaning and restoring of the beach area at Waubee lake, currently known as the Lakeside Park. They won first prize for their efforts Mr. and Mrs. John B. Augsburger and family of r 1 Milford spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Phil Blanchard and family of Bond Head. Toronto. Canada.
