Funeral Services For Ralph Wrigley Os Monroe Township Held Friday

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist church for Ralph D. Wrigley, 75, lifetime resident of Monroe township, who died of a heart attack at 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. His death was unexpected. Services were conducted by Rev. Gilbert Shimanek, pastor of the church, and interment was in the Hillcrest cemetery. A retired farmer and active insurance company representative at the time of his death, Mr. Wrigley had been a trustee of Monroe township and was a member of the board of county commissioners from the southern district. He was bom March 17. 1895 in Monroe township, the son of William and Cynthia (Burkett) Wrigley. On November 27,1919 he married the former Nellie

Rhodes, who survives. The deceased was a member of the Pleasant G/Ove United Methodist church, and was a longtime member of the Pierceton Lions club. He was treasurer of the Lions club at the time of his death. He was also a member of the boards of the Salvation Army and the Kosciusko County Red Cross, and a member of the Kosciusko County Farm Bureau. In addition to the widow, survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dan (Virginia) Wrigley, of Fort Wayne; one niece and one nephew.

Mrs. George Adams Services were held Friday for Mrs. Anna M. Adams. 70, of 706 south Vernon street, Nappanee. She was the mother of Mrs. Charles (Bessie) Brown and sister of Miss Goldie Newcomer, Manford. Raymond and Edward Newcomer, all of Syracuse. Mrs. Adams passed away Tuesday evening. Oct. 20, at Elkhart hospital where she had been a patient for one week. She had been in failing health for the past year. The deceased was bom in Elkhart county on September 9. 1900 and was united in marriage on February 3, 1917 to George Adams. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1959. She was a member of the War Mothers, Nappanee chapter and the Church of the Nazarene. Also surviving are five sons. Forrest of Paw Paw, Mich., Chester, Lotus, Richard and Samuel, all of Nappanee; four other daughters, Mrs. Everett (Dorothy) Fisher. Mrs. Tom (Pearl) Pletcher and Mrs. Thurman (Laura) Sponseller. all of Nappanee and Mrs. Charles (Beatrice) Baker of Culver; 45 grandchildren and 46 greatgrandchildren. The Rev. Eugene Comm er officiated and burial was in Union Center cemetery'. Joe Kropf Sen-ices were held Saturday for Joe Kropf, 90, of r 4 Goshen, a long time resident of Milford community, who died Tuesdaynight in Indianapolis of bums suffered last Monday in a leaf fire at his home. Burial was in Goshen cemetery. Perry 1. Mathew* Perry t I. Mathews, 84, r 1 Warsaw, died Thursday at Whitley county hospital at Columbia City. He had been ill one month and death was due to complications following surgery. Mr. Mathews was a retired farmer and carpenter and was born November 2.1885 at Milford. He was the son of Leonard and Christine (Carrier) Mathews and was a lifetime resident of the Milford-Leesburg area On October 13,1907, he was married to Bessie Price who preceded him in death August 28, 1950. Mr. Mathews was a member of the Milford Christian church Surviving is a daughter. Mrs. John (Esther) Berkey of r 1 Warsaw, one grandson; and one

sister, Mrs. Samuel (Elzina) Hartter of Milford. He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and two brothers Services were conducted Sunday at the Milford Christian church and burial at' Milford cemetery. Willis I. Kames Funeral services were held Monday morning for Willis I. Karnes, 68, of Little Barbee Lake, r 1 Warsaw. He passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home Friday at 5 a m Mr. Karnes was born on December 24, 1903 at Hartford City, to Sheridan and Cora (Ford) Karnes, and had moved to the Little Barbee area 10 months ago from Gas City. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Barton, to whom he was married on December 17, 1924. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Fairmount and retired as a welder from the Dana Corp.. Marion. Also surviving is a son. Willis. Winter Haven, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. George (Naomi) Shallcross, Chicago and Mrs. Jake (Charlotte) Adrianson. Gas City; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two brothers, James of Gas City and Sylvester of Montpelier. The Rev. John Weeks officiated for services and burial was in Washington Union cemetery near Pierceton. The baby weighed six pounds and 11 ounces and measured 19 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Morse Sheets of Bremen, and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Warren Evans.
