REMEMBER WHEN IT HAPPENED IN SYRACUSE ONE YEAR AGO A hearing was held at the scout cabin on the proposed discontinuance of two Baltimore and Ohio railroad passenger trains and their service in the area. Syracuse residents living on Dolan Drive are divided on a proposed project to widen and improve 2,650 feet of the street. A double birthday party and dinner for Scott and Nina Huffer, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Huffer, was held Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Marshal of r 4 have left for their winter home at Avon Park. Fla. Charles E. Cable takes as his bride Victorina A. Casino of Balacanas. IN VIET NAM — Col. and Mrs. Joseph A. Gray of Lake Wawasee have received word from their son. WO-1 Joseph A. Gray, US Army, who is now flying Army helicopters in Viet Nam. Until recently he has been flying low observation helicopters in support of artillery units which are a part of the First Airborne Cavalry Division. He Hew resupply missions into Cambodia during the “Fish Hook** operation as well as air spot and liaison missions from forward bases and landing zones and his helicopter was unarmed. Gray now writes that, although he is still flying low observation helicopters, he is now carrying two-door gunners with him and has also moved back t to base camp at Phouc Vhin. north of Saigon. WO Gray is in the sixth month of a year's tour in Viet Nam. Credit Association Employees Attend Financial Meeting Willard N. Schieler of the Albion Production Credit Association has just returned from a three-day farm organization and financial planning workshop held at Purdue university. The meeting was attended by over one hundred Production Credit Association and Federal Intermediate Credit Bank personnel. Also in attendance were representatives of four other big ten universities who were on hand to monitor the session. The workshop was developed by the Production Credit Associations and Purdue university to provide PCA employees with an opportunity to study the latest techniques in the important areas of farm organization and financial planning. A similar program will be held the last week in October at Ohio State university.

CRUSADE BEGINS NOVEMBER 1 AT MOUNT TABOR Dennis D. Chizum of Mishawaka has been secured for the Mount Tabor Crusade at the Mount Tabor church six miles south of Nappanee. Mr. Chizum is devoting full time to the work of song evangelism and Sunday School work. He has attended Bethel college in Mishawaka, The Stamps School of Music in Dallas, Texas and the Institute of Applied Science in Chicago. Mr. Chizum has served in the armed services in Viet Nam and through his experiences, he received a rich experience with God which has caused him to dedicate his life to Christ and the work of the church. Mr. Chizum has recorded several long playing stereo albums and has appeared in a number of singing concerts in the area and is heard on a number of radio stations in the area. During the Mount Tabor Crusade, Mr. Chizum will be directing the congregational music and providing vocal solos each evening and Sunday. The Mount Tabor church choir will be featured each Sunday during the crusade in both morning and evening services. During the week there will be other individuals and groups from the area and church that will provide musical selections. One of the outstanding features of the Mount Tabor crusade each year has been the great music and this year will be an outstanding musical program. Services begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. Nursery facilities will be provided for the services. WATER PUMP MOTOR CAUSES DAMAGES FRIDAY Syracuse firemen responded to a call at 9:39 Friday morning when an electric motor on a water pump in the basement at the Nelson Miles home. 52 North Shore Drive. Syracuse, became hot and the basement filled with smoke. Heavy damage was listed to the pump and motor.

Arrested For Unlawful Possession Os Marijuana
