Sigma Tau National Nurses’ Scholarship, had entered the Lutheran hospital school of nursing in Fort Wayne, to begin her training. Door prizes were won by Mrs. James Schrock and Mrs Roger Stahly. Art Association Has Meeting The Noble County Art Society met Thursday evening at the Home Spun Shop in Albion. A very well attended meeting was held and members had the privilege of seeing Mrs. -Edna Root demonstrate her method of flower painting. Mrs. Root has studied in the Fort Waylie Art School and for several years has conducted art classes in Albion. Paul Ashby showed several of his winners at the Indiana State Fair including prints and boutiques. The next meeting will be on October 13th KENT RENNER HEADS VICA Kent Renner was elected president of the West Noble high school vocational industrial club (VICA) in their election last week Don Becker will serve as vice president; Arthea Miller, secretary; and Kirk Smith, treasurer. Warren Halsey will act as their parlimentarian and Cindy Steffy, reporter Members conducted a campaign with the help of campaign managers, posters and speeches
IN MICHIGAN HOSPITAL James Hull, r 1 Ligonier, is a patient in the Little Traverse Bay hospital, Petoskey, Mich., and is in room 112. Mr. Hull became ill while staying at his cottage on Brevort Lake, near Petosky. COMMUNITY NEWS Mrs. Martha Marker has been transferred from a LaPorte Hospital to the Longview Place nursing home, Hively Ave., Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cory and son, Randy, have returned from a two week’s vacation in Phoenix, Arix. They visited her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Conner and daughters, Cheryl and Susan. Randy has now returned to Ball State university, Muncie, for his junior year. Mrs. Alta Blue has returned to Ligonier from her cottage at Simonton Lake, near Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Ott, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDaniel and Mr. and Mrs. Wayland Spears were dinner guests recently of Mrs. Juanita Green, at Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Preist of Greenfield visited Mrs. Fern Stage at Lake Wawasee Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Houser spent their vacation in Wisconsin. Mrs. Helen Blue took her daughter, Rita, to Bloomington Monday to enter Indiana university. Mrs. Robert Henn and sons of Huntington visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Henn of Ligonier and Mrs. Myrtle Secrist of Cromwell last week end. Mrs. Howard Harper was a patient for several days in Goshen hospital. She was treated for food poisoning. 4-H SADDLE CLUB ADVISORY BOARD MEETS Mrs. Robert Thwaits, Mrs. David Miller and Lloyd Chupp are the new members elected to the 4-H Saddle club advisory board last week in a meeting conducted by Zale Frey, area extension agent-youth. Dr. Sam Kennedy was reelected chairman of this board and Mrs. Harvey Doty was elected secretary. Ora Miller and Mel Cross were asked to be leaders with Russ Myers, as an advisory to the leaders. The meeting was closed with the next board meeting to be held at Tom Mattern’s on September 28.

Chore-Time he was with Big Dutchman and General Electric. Mr. Monson recently moved from Ridgewood, N. J., into this area. He resides at Valley Springs in Warsaw with his wife and six children. Mr. Dahlstrom now lives in Milford where he moved from
Salisbury, Md. He is married and has three children. Mr. Egger plans to move to this area from his present home in Grand Haven. Mich. Nobody is sicker than the man who is sick on his day off.
JAILED ON JP WARRANT George S. Northrup, 21, of r 3 Syracuse, was jailed last week at Warsaw by sheriff Dave Andrews on a justice of the peace court warrant charging the offense of drawing a dangerous weapon. He was later released on a bond.
