Mr. And Mrs. Oliver Wills Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary Sept. 13
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver C. Will, 546 E. State St., Huntington, were honored with a family reception and buffet supper September 13, at their Lake Wawasee home in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. Their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dean L. Hartle. Epworth Forest, hosted the event. Mr Will and the former Faye Chapman were married at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Chapman. September 14, 1920 by Rev. Edward Trippeer. Mr. Will’s cousin. Mrs. Will was born in Huntington and graduated from Huntington high school with the class of 1915. She is a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary,the Hospital Guild and the O. G. club Mr. Will was born in Peru. Ind., and went to Huntington in 1915 with the Wabash Railroad. His parents were Oliver H. and Lucy (Smith) Will. He has been active in civic affairs having served on

Bridesmaids were Miss Jean Sellers of r 2 Pierceton, Miss Holly Langohr of r 1 Pierceton and Miss Elaine Carlin of r 3 Warsaw Miss Cristina Truex of Goshen, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girl. The maid of honor and the bridesmaids wore gowns styled in the same fashion. The dresses were of pink crepaline with empire waistlines, scooped necklines and short puffed sleeves. The necklines and sleeves were trimmed with white lace. The headdresses were short pink veils fastened with pink bows. Each attendant carried a long stemmed pink rose with pink ribbon streamers. The flower girl wore a gown styled similar to the bridesmaids and carried a basket of pink and white pom pons. 1 Lester Krull of Milford served as his brother s best man. Groomsmen included Steve Bender, Roger Korenstra and John Atkinson, all of Milford. Master John Chapin of Park Ridge. 111., cousin of the bride, was ringbearer. Ushers were Bruce Sweetheimer of r 1 Warsaw and Russell Adams of Goshen, brother and brother-in-law of the bride. George Truex of Goshen, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Roger Christner of Goshen, cousin of the bridegroom. Mrs. Sweetheimer chose an Aline dress of navy blue for her daughter’s wedding. She complimented her outfit with "white accessories. The bridegroom’s mother selected a one-piece navy dress with harmonizing accessories Both mothers wore corsages of white carnations, tipped with pink. Reception In Church Annex The . bride’s chosen colors of pink and white were used to decorate the Ella Shoop annex of the church where the reception was held immediately following the wedding ceremony The four-tiered wedding cake topped with the traditional bride and bridegroom figures, was centered on the serving table decorated with a pink cloth with a net skirt accented with pink roses Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Russell Adams of Goshen and Mrs Bruce Sweetheimer of r 1 Warsaw, sister and sister-in-s---law of the bride, and Mrs. George | Truex of Goshen and Mrs. Lester I Krull of Milford, sister and sisterI in-law of the bridegroom Miss Vickie Blanchard of I Pierceton presided at the guest

the city council for nine-years. He has been a member of the Salvation Army advisory board for over 20-years serving as its president in 1955 and also a member of the board of trustees of the Huntington county hospital having served since 1949. Mr. Will was employed as office and credit manager of the Caswell-Runyan Co. for many years and with Jack Lee and Sons Realtors until his retirement. He is a member of the Kiwanis club. Amity Lodge. F & AM Chapter. Council, and Commandery of Huntington and the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne. Both Mr. and Mrs. Will are 50year members of the Trinity United Methodist church Huntington and have served on many commissions in the church. They are the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Dean L. (Minnette) Hartle, They have been summer residents of the Webster, Papakeechie and Wawasee Lake area for 30-years.

Honeymoon In East The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls and in the eastern part of New York state. They will live at the Poagston Arms in Fort Wayne after September 21. Both are enrolled at International Business college. The new Mrs. Krull is a 1970 graduate of Pierceton high school and her bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of Wawasee high school. He is in his second year at International. Both of the newlyweds have been very active in 4-H Club work and plan to sene as leaders during the coming year. He served as a leader this past summer. Rehearsal Buffet A buffet supper was held at the home of the bridegTbom’s. parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Krull of Milford, following the wedding rehearsal Friday evening. Sept 4. Mrs. Bjella Entertains Bunco Club Ten members and two guests, Gloria Ever and Kay Start, of the Shady Ladies Bunco club were entertained on September 10 in the Syracuse home of Mrs. Dennis Bjella. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Lloyd Kammerdiner. high; Mrs. Bjella, bunco and travel; and Mrs. Hubert Dunitham, low. Mrs. Bjella served cake with tea and coffee The October meeting will be held in the home of Mrs. Joe Hapner. Senior Citizens Elect Officers Mrs. Agnes Stiffler was elected president of the Turkey Creek Senior Citizens at the Thursday night meeting of the organization. Mrs. Georgia Buster was elected vice president and Mrs. Helen Overstreet, re-elected secretary-treasurer for • the year The next meeting will be a carry-in dinner on September 24 followed by a special program. Miss Sue Ellen Sponseller. daughter of Mr. tfnd Mrs. Charles B. Sponseller of Lansing. Mich., and Robert E. Buck. 11, son of Mrs. Beatrice Buck and the late Rev. Robert E. Buck of Lapeer. Mich., were married Saturday, Sept. 5. at 7 p.m. in the Grace United Methodist church, Lansing. Mich. Rev. Carl W. Koerner officiated at the nuptial service, assisted by Rev. Clarence W. Hutchens. Basket arrangements of white carnations and apricot gladioli with baby’s breath on each side of the approach to the altar and two seven tier candelabra on each side of the kneeling bench with candles and large white satin bows formed the church decorations. Pews were marked with arrangements of white satin bows with apricot carnations and hurricane candles. Mrs. Chester G. Kolar of Warsaw was the soloist. Bridal Gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of ,white silk organza and chantilly hand clipped and floral patterned lace over white taffeta. The molded bodice with the patterned lace formed the Victorian neckline below which was a sheer yoke bordered at the bottom with the same lace. This extended down the center front and encircled the high rise waistline. Long fitted sleeves with deep points at the wrist were styled with the lace floral pattern extending nearly to the bottom. A floor length A-line skirt was scattered on the front with lace motifs. A wide detachable funnel train with a bow at the top was scattered with lace motifs and edged with the scalloped lace at the bottom and fell from the high rise waistline. A plateau offingers of small white blossoms centered with tiny pearls secured her triple bouffant veil of imported French illusion. She carried a cascade arrangement of white carnations and apricot roses. Miss Deborah Butler of Lansing, Mich., was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Vicki Hollis of Lansing, Mich., and Mrs. James Stewart of DeWitt. Mich. Attendants wore identical floor length A-line gowns of apricot organza over
matching taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a mandarin neckline edged w'ith a frill and narrow white lace. Below this was a jabot of lace edged ruffles. Long modified bishop sleeves were styled with a band and wide lace edged frill which fell gracefully on their hands. A wide belt was attached at the high rise waistline. Matching dior organza bows with petal veils were their headpieces. They carried white carnations with brown velvet leaves and shower of ribbons in brow Ti. apricot and white. Bridegroom Attendants Leonard Buck. Jr., of Leslie. Mich., served his cousin as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Buck ofßrighton. Mich., uncle of the bridegroom, and James Gardner of Holt. Mich. Joseph F. Ruch of Indianapolis and Timothy Kolar of Warsaw were ushers A reception followed the wedding ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Butler greeted the guests at the guest book. Serving at the bride’s table were Mrs. Neva M. Ruch of Jalaine Heagy of Warsaw, Sue Hoerner and Mrs. James Price. The newlyweds are at home in Holt, Mich., following a wedding trip to northern Michigan. The bride attended Lansing Community college and Mr. Buck received his associate degree in business from the Lansing Community college. Out of state guests were from Indianapolis. Warsaw. The Calvary United Methodist Church at Syracuse was the setting for the August 29 wedding uniting in marriage Miss Avis Kay Rowland of 150 North Shore Drive. Syracuse, and Carl E. Wilkinson of 606 South Main, Syracuse. The Rev. Kennard Robinson, pastor of the church, assisted by Dr. George Strohm. performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 50-guests at 7:30 o’clock in the evening. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Emery Rowland of r 2 Claypool and Mrs. Roy Wilkinson and the late Mr. Wilkinson of r 2 Syracuse. Candelabra and bouquets of red roses bedecked the wedding setting. Mrs. E. W. Hall of Syracuse played organ selections of “I Love You Truly,” ‘ Because.” ”O Perfect Love.” and “The Lord's Prayer.” Given in marriage by her ( father. Miss Rowland appeared in a street length gown of white rayon and chiffon featuring Venetian lace. Reception Follows A three-tier wedding cake graced the serving table’ for the reception which followed. Mrs. Gerald Bitner and Mrs. Arlen Bobeck were in charge of serving. Mrs. Paul Pollock, sister of the bridegroom, poured, and Miss Teresa Gill was in charge of the guest book. Following a honeymoon in southern Indiana, the couple is ’now residing at 606 South Main, Syracuse. A graduate of Claypool high school and Manchester college, the new bride is a fourth grade teacher in the Syracuse schools. The bridegroom graduated from Syracuse high school and served four years in the U.S. army. He is owner-operator of Auer’s Auto Supply at Syracuse.
